He provided mankind with the option of forgiveness after one repents.
It was already there... see Ezekiel Ch. 18

Yes, bread rising can be directly interpreted as going to hell. Good job sparky!

Yes, bread rising can be directly interpreted as going to hell. When the cited scripture is taken context, it directly addresses the point you raised.
If this (sodomy = sin) is an uncomfortable subject for you, perhaps you'll be able to find some like-minded folks over at DU.
To: Freebird Forever
That Chapter is addressing staying the course. NOWHERE does it imply that if you stray but a bit, you are bound for Hell. Christians sin every day. Those sins are paid for. Just because I might die in a wreck where I was cussing at an old lady in traffic just before I had a head on collision doesn't mean I cannot be forgiven of that sin because my physical body was not alive to verbally repent.
That is asinine to even think that. My God is eternally more deep than that.

If this (sodomy = sin) is an uncomfortable subject for you It appears you are suffering from the discomfort. I have no problem with acknowledging that sex outside of marriage is a sin. Your problem seems to be accepting that it goes just as much for straight offenders as gays. Of course, gays cannot get married, spiritually anyway. But for those who are straight and are sexual before marriage they are in the exact same boat.

It was already there... see Ezekiel Ch. 18I believe Ez 33:14-16 speaks to that nicely as well. It is a clear foreshadowing of what the new covenant made available to all Gentiles.

LOL You're as good a spinmeister as anyone clinton ever employed.

Here is more:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1086102/posts A few posts down you will see the letter I wrote to the author of this soft-pedal queer article and the reply I got from his editor of the Orlando Slantinel. And I use the word 'queer' in its orinally intended way.

What did they mean by "tainted blood"?That is my question too. I guess it could be "tainted" as opposed to "pristine" blood from the Red Cross...not

Your name should be Shackledbird. Do you live in constant dread that you may die out of a state of repented grace? You ought to, in order to be consistent.
To: Texaggie79
Your problem seems to be accepting that it goes just as much for straight offenders as gays. Sodom and Gomorrah were NOT destroyed because of rampant heterosexual immorality (which was also common throughout the region).
That account was recorded in the Inspired Scriptures as an example for all future generations.
Ignore it if you so chose.
But for those who are straight and are sexual before marriage they are in the exact same boat.
You get half credit for that one. They both exercised their free will to disobey the Almighty & they both can be forgiven. But, the straight couple in your example committed a sin, which, under the covenant of marriage, is completely sanctified.
OTOH, buggery is a sin that is never sanctified, under any circumstances.
To: Freebird Forever
Besides, many who have sex before marriage know that what they are doing is a sin and feel guilty about it. This has led to many a couple "doing the right thing". All queers have to convince themselves that what they are doing is "OK" and the only way they can do that is by DENYING GOD ENTIRELY, (or making him in their own twisted image, worse), and that's the real ticket to hell in the whole thing. IMO. If they cause a little one to stumble along the way, so much the worse for them.

OTOH, buggery is a sin that is never sanctified I was never aware of any sin that was sanctified. But buggery isn't the unforgivable sin, if that's what you have in mind.

Your name should be Shackledbird. Jumping right into the middle of the mix with an ad hominem, huh?
Come on, that's no way to establish a reasonable debate.
Do you live in constant dread that you may die out of a state of repented grace?
No, I'm willing to accept the Almighty's judgment of my life no matter how the decision falls.
You ought to, in order to be consistent.
I don't see any inconsistency in what I've written.
If you want to point them out, go ahead. But please try to avoid any more fallacious logic.
To: Texaggie79
What did they mean by "tainted blood"?It's like that song by Soft Cell.
Now I know, I've got to
(whack whack)
Avoid gays, I've got to
(whack whack)
Avoid gays
From the pain that you drive into the butt of me
The rape back there
Seems to go nowhere
And I've lost my light
For I toss and turn I and my rear ain't tight
(chorus) Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I'll run from you
This tainted blood you've given
I gave you all a boy could give you
Take my *** and that's not nearly all
Oh...tainted blood
Tainted blood

No, I'm willing to accept the Almighty's judgment of my life no matter how the decision falls. It is impossible to believe you are so blase' about going to hell. That is, unless you are an unbeliever.
