Is 9/11 an Issue?

President Bush talks about his record, and Democrats demand that he shut up.

September 11, 2001, marked the worst foreign attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor--the bloodiest ever on the American mainland. It's certainly been the defining event of George W. Bush's Presidency. But according to Democrats and their media echo chamber, it now shouldn't be a campaign issue.

It wouldn't end the war on terror, just temporarly suspend it until thousands more Americans are killed in the next attack. Then Kerry would fire off some cruise missiles at some empty tents in the dessert and everyone would blame President Bush.

Don't forget, Kerry has promised to start his presidency with a visit to the UN to "apologize" so that the US can "rejoin the community of nations;" then Kerry will embark on a global goodwill tour apologizing for Bush's foreign policy "follies;" and Kerry has promised to "dialogue and cooperate" with all of these countries Bush has angered (North Korea, Iran, etc, etc)

Won't that be special?

I am so looking forward to Kerry running over to France for his promised pre-election photo-op with Chirac; they will probably "dialogue" in French.

In fact, I heard Kerry is planning to meet with lots of world leaders to appear "presidential" before the election. Can't wait to see the this. BRING IT ON!

"I am so looking forward to Kerry running over to France for his promised pre-election photo-op with Chirac..."

Be careful, you might be walking a fine line. Presidential candidates are given Secret Service protection. Considering the recent information that Europe is about to have it's warmest summer in history, your comment about looking forward to Kerry going to a very hot and humid nation that doesn't believe in deorderant, could possibly be construed as wishing harm on a candidate.

I was on another thread earlier today where some folks want (again) the already over stretched military to set up a massive kill zone along our southern border only. Minor things like settling Iraq and catching bin Laden don't pose the same level of threat for them as a Mexican bus boy or lettuce picker.

Oh, it's the poor Mexican bus boy lettuce picker defense. How leftist like and weak.

I know you tried to come to tex's rescue, but you only made yourself sound like the loud mouthed Mecha supporters, and Cezar Chavez communist union hacks.

Oh, and how about that over stretched military of ours CWO? I noted our latest engagement, with the deployement of our military in Haiti. LOL! Lots of big time U.S. interest there, eh CWO?

You been eaten tex's left over cow pies.

Joe you are having a hard time keeping your obsession on the front burner lately. How do you explain that?

Hey, you do that nicely...and I have to admit, it's refreshing seeing something even remotely intelligent come from you. You should stop trying to use words and squawk more often.

It is absolutly an issue.

Kerry is saying we "angered our alies" and he wants to rebuilt what was lost.

IOW he wants to kowtow (and all that historically implies) to the French and the Germans and anyone else who wants to see the USA as less important.

I want a president who makes sure the USA is the MOST important country. Not first among equals, First head and sholders ABOVE the other nations.

I agree.. we can get sidelined on issues (the ant & elephant idea.. we must take care of the imp elephant but low & behold the pesky ants, continually biting at our feet (Dims) are quite problematic).

It is very scary to see acquaintances with supposed intelligence, just spout off the same hate filled, anti Bush rhetoric. Same crap on Rep for Rich, destroying senior "everythings", anti education, weak on foreign policy (a big , DUH ??? -- on that one) etc.

I say it is scary because the less educated look to answers from these clowns... whether they are elected officials or merely folks of prominence at school, church, clubs.

VERY SCARY

The issues of the war, national security, defense must be seen & shown to be handled only by GWB...

Democrats are embarrassed about disregarding threats of attacks on the American mainland. They had no problem with Khobar, our embassies abroad and USS Cole -- though they had to ignore the 1993 bombing of the WTC. (The bomb was meant to topple the building not burn it, right?)

So, Kerry and his party activists are bound determined to turn 9/11 into a campaign issue. I say, Let them.

Just as Abe Foxman's feigned paranoia over "The Passion of the Christ" helped turn Gibson's film into an overnight blockbuster that guarantees a sequel, Dems will move 9/11 onto the center stage of the election campaign where it belongs.

Poor mindless urchins. They've been duped by Moveon.org and Soros's money once again. (At least it gives them something to whine about. I always thought their Midnight Basketball programs for National Defense were too noisy.)

What's disturbing is that so many of my fellow New Yorkers, after voting for Gore, immediately received $20 billion from President Bush for rebuilding, while grieving families received federal compensation of between $250,000 and $7.8 million. (In contrast, families of our soldiers lost in combat receive $6,000 in burial cost reimbursement.)

These Dem Party activists who are still complaining are the ones who dishonor their lost loved ones, not President Bush.

Well, of course 9/11 is an issue. And it should be no problem for Bush to use his post-9/11 leadership as an issue.

The issue with the ad, as I see it, is that it includes an image of someone's body being removed from the site. A person with a family. A person who may, or may not, agree with the views of GWB. That's out of bounds.
