Who are these "VETERANS FOR PEACE "
Are they the 1960's Protestors? Is that why they are veterans! How many are actual American Soldiers?
We, having dutifully served our nation, do hereby affirm our greater responsibility to serve the cause of world peace. To this end we will work, with others
No where does it say they were in the military are they old Peace nic's?

They may be veterans; however, I'd be interested in seeing the characterization of their discharges. I'll bet a healthy percentage are not, "Honorable."

I'll bet you are wrong about them not being honorably discharged and I'll bet some of them even go back to WWII and the beginning of the nuclear age. They have seen war, been there and done that, and would like to find a more constructive way to solve disagreements between countries.
Most of those beating the drums of war have never seen or participated in one.

Unfortunately, some of us don't through no fault of our own. I don't.
I just have a certificate stating one can't be issued because a Records Center fire destroyed my records.
You can damn betcha I have my Medical, Under Honorable Conditions Discharge to go with that cert. But no 214.
Still, I bet you are basically right, and they don't have any papers.

"Veterans for Peace" is listed as an organization that has had direct contact with the International Action Center - you know, the outfit apparently founded by Ramsey Clark
Towards the top, after wading through the "mission" gobbley goop -
Organizations opposed to sanctions
The following list covers a number of groups that have organized some form of opposition to sanctions against Iraq, especially those based in countries that were part of the alliance that waged war on Iraq in early 1991. The list is by no means complete, but consists of those groups that have been in direct contact with the International Action Center. The activities carried out by the organizations described here cover a wide variety of approaches to opposing sanctions: providing humanitarian assistance, organizing political opposition, publishing books and other educational material, and taking direct action. They illustrate both the growing opposition to sanctions and the variety of tactics to fight them.
(and what a list it is)

and most interesting, down towards the bottom -
IGC Internet is a project of the Tides Center, a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt organization.
And finally, Veterans for Peace has a listing in the San Francisco Bay Area Progressive Directory - http://www.bapd.org/dir.html, an index of organizations in the San Francisco area that are related to "progressive activism", though only their website is listed for contact

If they have discharge papers, what were the terms of the discharges?
Were they other than honorable?
Were they discharged for acts of perversion, malingering, refusal to obey a direct command, AWOL, misconduct or worse?
