Why do blacks think they own the term "civil rights"? Anyway the term "civil rights" is a coupla decades outdated as it pertains to blacks. Blacks and whites have the same civil rights now and thus there is nothing more for one particular race to fight for? Maybe as Americans there is more to fight for, but not for blacks solely.
Maybe the gays can use the rights to the term "civil rights" now.
And black "civil rights leaders" should come up with a new name and a new reason to validate their existence.

Could you explain your POV a bit more? Are you in favor of "gay" marriage?
In your opinion is homosexuality genetic - in light of your comment that man+woman marriage is someone else's genetic makeup but not everyone's?
Since there is no time in history when men were married to men or women to women, what does your historical reference indicate?
Are you being sarcastic?

God knows I couldn't do any worse than "Republicans on television." This gay marriage issue IS the one issue that is resulting in black Americans joining social conservatives on a political issue. This is one of the rare opportunites to win a percentage of the black vote.
