Here, after some time without mention on these pages, is something sort of about Britney. Probably shoulda been posted straight to chat, but it'll be there soon enough I'm sure.

Interesting article, I thought. What about this poor kid? I think a lot of guys find Britney pleasant to gaze upon, and maybe even enjoy some of her musical performances. But here is a young man, a high school senior, exhibiting some rather odd behavior in his obsession with Britney. What do you suppose would explain that?

Oh, by the way, he is "openly gay", it says near the end. And the mention of alleged harassment means nothing - in this paper, if a person's homosexuality is brought up, reports of discrimination or harassment are gratuitous, but I dare say any guy in high school who worhips at the altar of Britney like this kid best be prepared for some serious ribbing, guys aren't supposed to like her in quite that way.

Let's begin with the outfit - Nathan's, not Britney's. We'll get to her in just a minute. Picture skin-tight jeans with spiraling studs and sequins going up the legs with glitter all around. Picture the pants ratted and torn. Now picture the skin-tight, black-fishnet, stocking shirt, and see the face and hair sprinkled with glitter, too.

Intervention is a good thing. It needs to happen NOW. The first step is to admit you have a problem.

Britney Spears is a complete idiot. I'm embarassed whenever I see her. Who can in their right mind listen to her? She's obnoxious. I feel sorry for her but I guess fame and "being an entertainer" is something she's always wanted. I sure we'll continue to hear more stupidity coming from her in years to come. I don't blame her, I blame her mother who pushed her into her glitz career. The mother already divorced the father. She's living the big dream. Too bad it's all so shallow. That's what the hollywood elites want people to see...all sequins, sex and no substance.

well, he may be a little too obsessed with her, but it's a phase. and even if it isn't whats the big deal? her influence probably saved this kid's life. that is healthy enough for me. and all these parents whining about how awful "brit-brit" is to their kids is kinda silly. it is up to the parents to either effectively limit exposure to such things, to explain that hollywood is pure fancy and not real, or simply ride out the phase. don't blame your kids problems on anyone but yourself.

And his admitted obsession with her is evidence of the power, and influence, Spears has on teen lives.

n=1 - This goofball's obsession is evidence of nothing more than his own mental illness.

Here's the saddest thing about this story:

Spears' latest tour, which kicked off March 2 in San Diego and hits Seattle tonight, is more of a circus than anything else. It's multiple sets and costume changes, and techno-grinding dance numbers and, in all likelihood, mostly lip-synched.... "Which is totally understandable if she's dancing like crazy," said another Britney, Brittany McGrath, a senior from Aloha High School in Beaverton.

These fans spend all this money to go to a concert of somebody lip-synching? And it's "totally understandable" because Britney's gotta dance? Geez, it's too bad one half of Milli Vanilli is dead -- they could make a comeback. After all, they always could dance well!

As a mom, I would encourage Britney to double, maybe TRIPLE her security.

My freind was sharing a shocking story seems on of her 5yr. old daughters classmates took another classmate of the oppisite sex to see the concert and then spend the week end with her.

Now this maybe an innocent sleep over as 5yrs is young but taking the 5yr old kids to see Britney as a date seemed perverted.

For Boozer, whose bedroom is also a shrine - we're talking 25 posters, wall-to-wall - to "Brit-Brit," his pet name for his idol, she was there for him as an inspiration when nothing else was, he says. Two years ago, Boozer, depressed because of the harassment he says he received from classmates as an openly gay student at Marist High School, tried to kill himself with an overdose of pills and alcohol. Listening to Spears' music, he says, helped him recover.

Oh my, where to begin. Instead of $2500 for backstage passes to meet is "idol", his parents should invest that money for serious therapy for this troubled young man. I can't believe this article looks at this as a "good thing." What have we become?

"Boozer paid $455.50 on eBay for two tickets in the fourth row ... "We have done enough expenses for his concerts," Judy Boozer, Nathan's mother, says with a grin ..."

Uh ... blame the boy for his obsessive behavior but it sounds as if the mother is a 51% enabler of this behavior.
