In Memory of The Fallen 9-11-2001WELCOME TO SODOM AND GOMORRAH, U.S.A. (UPDATED)
by Timothy Rollins, Editor and Publisher

March 18, 2004

Timothy Rollins - Beneath the SurfaceThe homosexual lobby can say what they like, but the fact remains these so-called 'gay marriages' are neither legitimate nor lawful, despite what San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom or New Paltz, New York Mayor Jason West may think. Newsom cites the equal protection under the laws clause of the California State Constitution as his justification for violating Proposition 22, the ballot initiative overwhelmingly passed by California voters in 2002 that specifically prohibits marriage between two persons of the same gender.

I recently spoke with an attorney colleague in Illinois - a liberal Democrat - and we were discussing the finer points on the matter. He agreed this increasing problem is something that needs to be addressed - and quickly. The idea of a constitutional amendment, however nice it looks on paper, will have a very hard time getting through Congress, much less 38 state legislatures. When was the last time something went through Congress without all kinds of riders and assorted add-ons? Yes, amendments in the past have been simple, but today, I'd have to say all bets are off - especially on a hot-button issue such as this one.

My beef here is not with homosexuals and lesbians themselves, as much as it is with the activists. How they live their lives behind closed doors is a private matter between themselves and God. Like the rest of us, they too will one day account to their Maker for their actions. What nauseates me is when People Magazine gushes praise on Rosie O'Donnell with "Brave Rosie" when she admitted being gay. I never pictured O'Donnell as being in the closet, not to mention that Rosie's being gay was the worst kept secret in New York, let alone the entire country. People long suspected Ellen DeGeneres of being gay before she admitted it; with O'Donnell, believe me, there was never any doubt. O'Donnell then goes off to San Francisco with longtime girlfriend Kelli Carpenter and gets 'married' in a high-profile act of civil disobedience. Perhaps the best article I've read on this issue was by Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA), who wrote in The Wall Street Journal of the vital need to protect the institution of marriage, as it predates our constitution and nation by millennia as being a building block for society - something homosexual and lesbian relationships cannot do, as such by their very nature would extinct our society within a generation.

With marriage rates on the continuing decline in America, more and more heterosexual couples live together without the benefit of marriage, as in 'shacking up'. These efforts by the homosexual community to be 'married' are nothing more than a sham effort on their part to both show the rest of the world and convince themselves that they are 'normal', when they never were, and never will be as long as they continue to practice their deviant behavior. As has been said before, homosexuality is not an alternative lifestyle; it is a deathstyle, based on their higher rates of mental illness, domestic violence, AIDS infection, STDs* and higher suicide rates. The odd thing in all this is that most homosexuals and lesbians reject marriage in that it is a heterosexual institution and they want nothing to do with the heterosexual lifestyle. To them, they have made their bed, and have chosen to lie in it. They want it both ways; they want to engage in high-risk behavior that has been proven to lead to infection with a disease with a 100% fatality rate; yet they want the 'straight' population to subsidize their deviant lifestyle (or should I say deathstyle?) through paying their hospital bills when they come down with the 100% preventable AIDS plague usually contracted through homosexual relations or intravenous drug usage. Who are the hypocrites now?

Were these gay 'marriages' taking place anywhere but California, the mayor would be in custody. However, Governor Schwarzenegger lacks the stones to have Newsom arrested for breaching the public trust and failure to uphold the law. This is something California voters will take note of - that, and the fact Schwarzenegger passed the buck to State Attorney General Bill Lockyer, a Democrat - who seeks to work through California's activist courts. With the California Supreme Court based in San Francisco, it's easy to suspect that the deck is already stacked going into this one and that the outcome has already been pre-determined - especially from a Governor whose support for gay rights was so pronounced during last year's campaign.

Say what you want, but I don't see gays as being entitled to any special or preferential rights under the law. If Clinton's "Don't ask, Don't tell" attitude was good enough to be used 10 years ago, it should be used now. Unlike Blacks, Latinos, or Asians, gays are not a visible minority. In fact, gays come in all shapes, sizes and colors. To give them protected status is a travesty and is only further testimony of the power of militant groups like QUEER NATION, ACT UP, Human Rights Campaign and others of their ilk, while most Americans are too damned fat and lazy to get off their butts and do anything about it.

It's like spitting into the wind it seems. We are at war with the forces of evil folks, yet America is going to hell in a hand basket and most people just simply don't care. Canada is already a write-off; our borders both north and south are a joke, California was already lost - and that was before this gay marriage debacle - yet the enemy continues to advance on the beachhead. Unless we draw a line in the sand and do so now, there won't be much of an America left - if any at all - to defend. ***

UPDATE: Since the original date of this article (March 2), other American cities have begun issuing marriage licenses to gay couples, most notably Portland, Oregon and Asbury Park, New Jersey. In addition, in a surprise ruling, the California Supreme Court ordered the City of San Francisco to STOP issuing marriage licenses to gay couples until the issue of the legality of gay marriage worked its way through the court system. In addition, the Social Security Administration has directed that no marriages performed in San Francisco County - either heterosexual or homosexual - be recognized until a final clarification on the matter has been obtained.

As for the gay marriages already performed in San Francisco, the California Supremes did not nullify them - at least not yet, leaving the gay newlyweds in legal limbo for now and facing a very uncertain future from a rule of law in their eyes, despite the fact that Proposition 22 - that was overwhelmingly passed by California voters in 2002 - clearly defines marriage as being between a man and a woman.

Across the country, New Paltz, New York Mayor Jason West has been criminally charged with performing illegal weddings and is facing the possibility of jail time, although many in the legal profession do not see that as a realistic possibility. West did however, meet with New York Attorney General Elliott Spitzer in the hopes of getting Spitzer to change his mind to no avil.

I guess Timothy Rollins has never sinned.

From my King James version of the Bible:

3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

I seem to remember the President saying something about this at a press conference last year too.

I dunno if that's the best analogy.

From the way I heard the story, the adulteress in question was not demanding that those who wanted to stone her pay for her contraception and medical claims for infectuous diseases derived from her "alternative lifestyle". Nor was she claiming that what she was doing was not only not a sin, but that she takes pride in it, and calling anyone who disagreed a bigot.

I don't think Jesus's line would've had quite the same effect on the crowd if she were.

Yes, and Christ said to "go and sin no more." He certainly wasn't sanctioning her conduct.

Jesus was a loving person, supposedly. I don't think he would sanction what these people(county officials) are trying to do. Whatever happened to their right of privacy? They aren't harming anyone doing what they're doing.

Jesus told the men not to stone her to death. He didn't tell them and her that adultery is a fine thing and she should continue it, and that everyone should now consider adultery just as good as marriage.

Jesus was loving, SUPPOSEDLY? Do YOU think he was loving? Does someone always show love by approval?

I've been around plenty of children in my time and sometimes one has to lovingly put them in the corner, lovingly yell at them, or even lovingly swat them on the behind.

It is showing love to tell people that same sex sodomy is not marriage, not healthy, not natural, and not normal.

How exactly is it part of their "privacy" to demand that society condone and grant special privileges to their relationships? Marriage may be the single most un-private act in our society. From the point of marriage on, ALL of society stops seeing a man and woman are not seen as separate entities, they're seen as a unit. It is acknowledged in countless ways.

No one is suggesting breaking doors down and arresting people who are having gay sex. They're saying, you want a right to privacy? Fine, keep it private. What exactly about a wedding or the state of marriage is private? For God's sakes, I WISH THEY WOULD keep it private, but they -refuse- to.

Thanks for the alert - I just posted a vanity about it. JTG was definitely one of them.

(Hey trolls, not only are you stoopid but on the wrong - and losing - side of the culture war! Plus, sooner rather than later we recognize you by your stench.)
