Could I have a clarification.

I thought that they decided instead of killing senators they were going to throw away their medals. Does it jive with the time frame.

The gun seems to be emitting a whiff of cordite residue.

I'm not sure that means too much. The NYT wasn't as involved in subversive activities then as it is now. They may not have known better.

You're kidding right?

Mr. Kerry, do you have a comment?

"Are you a Republican?"
"Did you vote for George Bush?"
"I represented them until I no longer represented them."
"Let me make myself clear that it appears that it looks like this might be something that perhaps as I've said before might apparently address that issue maybe."
"Republican attack dog."
"It's none of your business."

Well, Bubba had the same ambitions and was stupid enough to write that letter, explaining his loathing for the military. Chalk it up to arrogance.

If they can just make Kerry have to defend against this, even if he has to deny being involved with the plot, it will raise' the entire fact that the VVAW was considering assassinations to an incredibly high public profile/ A lot of people who know nothing about it will have the issue loom huge in their field of vision and suddenly ask themselves-- 'Gee, who is this Kerry guy anyway?"

More flip flops...he led a group that wanted to kill Senators, and then he became one.

He only wanted to kill a senator before he DIDN'T want to kill one.

First, he DIDN'T want to be a senator, and then he DID. I see a big problem with Kerry. He is too consistent in his flip flopping.

Re: The VVAW's November, 1971, Vote to Assassinate Seven Senators.

Senator Kerry's comment:

"I actually voted for the resolution before I voted against it."

Very impressive.

This is truly a big story. I can count virtually every news value in this story and any journalist not covering this is doing so for only one reason: BIAS.

My question has been.........if he knew NOTHING about the assassination talk for 10 years after the incident, why is he STILL saying that he's PROUD to have belonged to that organization? Shouldn't he be ASHAMED?

I thought that they decided instead of killing senators they were going to throw away their medals. Does it jive with the time frame.

Those were two different events.

Members of the VVAW threw their medals in Washington DC in April 1971 at Operation Dewey Canyon III, the protest at which where Kerry also told bogus tales of war crimes to the Senate. Scott Camil was evidently making noises about shooting people even then.

But at the November 1971 meeting in Kansas City, the VVAW leadership actually voted on a proposal to murder 6 or 7 U.S. Senators who supported the war. This appears not to have bothered John Kerry all that much...

Has anyone had the stomach to check out DU to see how they are spinning this? Although they can't say it, I imagine most of them are only disappointed that Kerry didn't go through with the plot.
