I just spent my lunch hour in our "bill drafting room" watching the hearings; (I work for the legislature) and I am surrounded by RATs. I think I'm the only conservative in the entire office of about 23 people. I could not believe what I was hearing as comments were flying from my co-workers to the TV when Rumsfield was speaking. "It was on BUSH's watch"; "Trying to pass the buck"; "Clinton did a GREAT JOB of hitting Afghanastan and using DIMPLOMACY to keep America safe;" "everyone in the world hates us since Bush has been in office."......... I tell ya.. I was a muted noise in the wilderness with this bunch. But, I was still smiling, because we are KICKING BUTT in these hearings.

"2 questions, is that fairly accurate? and 2nd, in an interagency meeting, isn't that where these discussions should take place, ideas bounced back & forth about different threats to the world?"

Wolfowitz: "basic difficulty in understanding what a plan really is ... it's NOT an option - that's like comparing one single play in a football game to the whole game. what you're suggesting is we merely consider the equivalent of a hail mary pass at the end of the game after everything else has been given up. that's why 7 months was not a long time and, in fact, was actually very fast."
