Yes I know, same here. I checked the Polk county paper but nothing there with more detail than what I posted.
http://www.polkonline.com/ The only thing I can figure is the mother has mental issues or was forced to leave with the baby...if something new shows up in the a.m. I'll post it.
Very strange indeed!

Prayers for this little baby - and her mother. May she do what is the best thing for her little one, and do it in love.

Authorities say baby Desiree Reyome was given to a woman for temporary custody after the girl's parents got into a vocal argument in the street of a neighborhood between Lakeland and Lake Wales early this morning. The mother, Lisa Nicole Steverson, was also allowed to stay.
When the woman giving shelter awoke at about later this morning, she found the baby and mother gone. Her 1984 silver Toyota Corolla was also missing.
The Polk County Sheriff's office has obtained an arrest warrant for grand theft for Steverson. The baby's father, Raymond Eugene Reyome is also wanted on an unrelated grand theft warrant.
Officials say baby Desiree has an unspecified medical condition that requires medical attention.
The tag on the car is G90-NMP.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 1-800-266-TIPS.

This seems more like a car theft than an Amber Alert.
Prayers that all works out....

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that this precious one is not with strangers, but even so, Lord God, she is in need of protection. Make her presence quickly known to law enforcement ... take her out of danger and return her to safety. Let not the parents become combative, but may they act in the best interests of their infant daughter. May it be thus, O God, in the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

She's been found....
http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/news-article.aspx?storyid=16448 LAKELAND, FL -- The Amber Alert for a missing two-week-old baby girl from Polk County has been called off after the baby and her parents were found in Tennessee.
A television station in Tampa reports Desiree Reyome and her parents, Lisa Nicole Steverson and Raymond Eugene Reyome are in custody in
Cleveland, Tennessee, just north of the Georgia border.
The Amber alert was issued last night, when authorities said baby Desiree was taken from the home of a woman given temporary custody over the child.
That woman had awoken yesterday morning to find her 1984 Toyota Corolla had been stolen, and the baby and mother missing.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says the baby is in good condition. She was said to have an unspecified medical condition.
