BEGALA SLANDERS CONDOLEEZA RICE AS A LIAR (On request of Hugh Hewitt)

CHARLIE BLACK, REPUBLICAN STRATEGIST: She's already been up there for four hours and she's going to go back for as long as they want.
(CROSSTALK)
BEGALA: But Dr. Rice has never testified under oath about this, Dr. Rice being the president's national security adviser. But she has written an op-ed. She began this week with an op-ed in "The New York Times" in which she says among other things that there was no intelligence on a plot to use airplanes.
Now we have a former FBI translator who says that's false. She also said that the plan for al Qaeda before 9/11 included military attacks. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage also under oath said, no, that was false. So she told two lies in 500 words. Can you name me two lies in Dick Clarke's 50,000 word book? I haven't found any.
BLACK: Well, first of all, what she said was nobody in the White House knew that there were plans to use airplanes as missiles.
Now, maybe the FBI knew it. Even Dick Clarke didn't claim that he told Condi or the president that. Nobody knew it. Let's talk about the facts. Let's talk about Mr. Clarke for a minute.
(CROSSTALK)
BEGALA: Well, no, no, I want to talk about Dr. Rice. Why won't she testify under oath before the 9/11 Commission? Doesn't she owe that to us as an officer of the United States government?
BLACK: Most people -- most people in this town, Republican and Democrat alike, believe her and trust her.
(CROSSTALK)
BEGALA: No, they don't. She's a liar. She lied twice in "The Washington Post" op-ed.
CARLSON: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
(APPLAUSE)
BEGALA: Well, sir, they don't. I'm sorry. She's a proven liar. She should testify under oath.
BLACK: She's not a proven liar. I just knocked the one point down.
BEGALA: The secretary of -- undersecretary of state says she is.

in which she says among other things that there was no intelligence on a plot to use airplanes. .... Now we have a former FBI translator who says that's false. So, Condi is expected to have knowledge of everything every Federal employee has knowledge of? She's supposed to have 100% recall of every piece of intellegence ever recieved?
The sad thing is that these people will actually hold this against her, despite the fact that's it's totally unreasonable.
It's like the "Bush Lied", big lie. Tell it enough, and they'll believe it.

I suspect that Clarke getting caught lying has really disrupted the DemoncRATs' plans, having brought him back to the campaign trail but left with the increasingly nearly dead political corpse of Hanoi John French Kerry & nothing but Clarke's pending perjury charges to prop it up with.

Speaking of Proven Liars, how about Madeline NotSoBright's denial (to John Lehman during 9/11 hearings) that she ever knew of the many terrorists to take refuge in Iraq, including the planner of the 93 attack on the WTC who was granted sanctuary by Saddam.

Begala just committed slander.
Rice testified in private session before the 9/11 Commission for hours and we all know it.
It is Clarke Bar who may just be facing perjury charges and we already have the proof!

"Don't ask so many questions.
OK, I AM a paid consultant and paid analyst for ABC.
OK, I admit my book publisher IS owned by the same company that owns CBS that I AND CBS
did profit from the puff piece on me.
Yes, my business partner, Roger Cressey, IS employed by NBC and there is a fiduciary relationship there.
Well, you got me again. My teaching partner at Harvard DOES work for Senator Kerry's campaign.
Now move on. There is nothing to see here."

This is so obnoxious; as one of Hugh callers said, if this were a white male republican talking about an African American female Democrat the sh#t would hit the fan. (And it still may). Even if she did make factual errors and I am not saying she did that is different than a lie. While am not an attorney, I would guess that this is slander (or libel I cant remember which is written and which is spoken). I doubt that will be prosecuted but perhaps it should be.

"Wouldn't all this speculation over Ms. Rices integrity be solved instantly if she would just testify Under Oath?"
I think a lot more would be answered if Bill Clinton and Al Gore were made to testify under oath before the Commission for the country to see. And Clarke needs to be called back to explains his lies.
