On page 127 of Clarke's new book "Against All Enemies", Clarke notes that it's possible that al Qaida operatives in the Phillipes "taught Terry Nichols how to blow up the Oklahoma Federal Building." Intelligence places Nichols there on the same days as Ramzi Yousef, and "we do know that Nichols's bombs did not work before his Philippines stay and were deadly when he returned."

And yet, the Clinton administration focused exclusively on homegrown terrorists, and never talked publicly about this matter. Laurie Mylroie, terrorism expert who worked for the Clinton administration, and others, have since talked about the Iraqi connection to the OKC bombing frequently.

Does anyone know when he will testify? I hope it's televised.

Newsmax has it. Search their site. The audio's pretty bad, BJC was speaking at a dinner or something, this was after 911. He said offhandedly that they couldn't find a legal reason to hold him when Mansoor Ijaz brokered the deal with the Sudanese. OBL on a silver platter. This was 1998, IIRC.

Did he say he was or he hoped to testify, that's a big difference?

He said that he had been asked to testify. They (Jarrett and Ijazz) discussed that for a few moments, and in closing, Jarrett asked if he would testify, and Ijaz said, emphatically, "I hope so."

It seems as if they hear what they want to hear. I can't believe the applause that the spectators broke into after some of Clarks interview. It really appeared to be sophmoric to me. Much like the wellstone memorial. It all kind of fits the same mold....to me anyway

It strikes me that this commission is becoming exactly what the Democrats schemed to do in the leakd Senate Intelligence Committee memo. They "pulled the trigger" during the election season and forced the administration into hearings. Now the Democrats are trying to use the commission to bash Bush some more.

Exactly!

Did you see this, YoSoy?

>>Conferring with Clarke

Prior to his testimony Wednesday before the independent 9/11 commission, Richard Clarke conferred privately with one of its Democratic members, according to commission sources.

These sources say Clarke huddled with Tim Roemer, a former Democratic congressman from Indiana. Roemer's subsequent questioning of Clarke contained a few barbs but consisted largely of open-ended questions giving the witness a chance to criticize President Bush. Roemer confirmed he had met ''a couple of times'' with Clarke, as he said he had with Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and CIA Director George Tenet. ''Nobody coaches Dick Clarke,'' Roemer added.

One reason why House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert unsuccessfully tried to curtail the commission's activities on schedule was the presence of Roemer, his former congressional colleague. Hastert regards Roemer as a partisan who attempts to project a bipartisan image.

but what is most shocking about it is how the white house is totally unprepared, even though everyone with a clue knew in advance what this would be like.

ait. You said he said he's been asked to testify. Now you're saying he is "hoping" to testify?

Yes, the segment began with Jarrett and Ijazz referring to the fact that he had been "asked to testify" and ended with Jarrett asking, "will you testify," and Ijazz responding, "I hope so."

So will the Dems on the panel note his Debka-like winning streak on predicting world events?

I would be shocked if the Commission allows Monsoor to testify publicly. Privately, maybe but publicly, I doubt it. Stranger things have happened. I think it will depend on how fast it sinks in that Clarke is damaged goods, which will cause the Commission's final report to not be taken seriously.

You are right about Ijaz and his so called 'testimony'.

He is now saying that it is likely clinton did NOT know that Sudan wanted to turn over OBL because the agencies did not like clinton or each other and probably didn't notify the executive branch about the offer from Sudan.

So I guess we are going to be asked not to believe our lying ears where clinton discusses the offer from Sudan.

Talk about changing one's story.....this man will now become the darling of the leftist media.
