As a primary mover and shaker on the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, John Kerry was privy to all of our nation's special intelligence on terrorism. In his own words, Clarke was, of course, the nation's terrorism czar. But Kerry was on the watchdog, Senate Intelligence Committee and should have been more proactive in getting information.

This is especially true since he served during the tenure of a Democratic President, Bill Clinton.

Throughout this entire time of his tenure on that committee, the above intelligence was banging around the intel agencies of our government.

There is no indication that John Kerry raised a red flag about these 9/11 precursors. In fact, as Systemic Finding #3 points out, his intelligence budget cutting tendencies CONTRIBUTED to 9/11.

John Kerry KNEW or SHOULD HAVE KNOWN.....He blew it! He was a democrat on the Intelligence Committee, Vice Chairman for a time, DURING the Clinton years. The Clinton People Knew or Should Have Known....They blew it!

yup, and as we all know now that the only thing that REALLY concerned Bubba Clinton was to have Monica give him a blowjob instead of him doing his job as Commander-in Chief and blowing up terrorists.

As reported here on FR a couple of weeks ago, there was a security investigation performed at Boston Logan Int'l airport just months before 911, and the folks there sent a desperate plea to Kerry to do something about the security lapses they had found. They reported that there was a very high probability that hijackings would take place from Logan.

They went to Kerry because they felt the FAA AG would blow them off, and it was Kerry's backyard. He forwarded the letter to the FAA AG anyway and sent the agents a nice little note explaining that it wasn't his business to interfere!

The little pissant could have done something, but chose not too because it would have exposed him for not doing his job and for what he really is, a freaking longhairedpinkocommiefag who doesn't give a rat about this country!

Soap box is put away now and my blood pressure is down slightly. Man this guy just pisses me off every time I see or hear his name, don't even get me started on seeing his Lurch lookalike face! (Sorry Lurch, I know it's not your fault!)

I bet Kerry proof read and edited Clarke's book! There is a pattern of behavior with the democrats - when they start pointing out the failings of others - they are usually the guilty party.

I agree.

The issue now, though, is John Kerry. He was there getting intel briefings throughout the years of Al Qaida's killing of a number of Americans and their plotting to attack our homeland.

Kerry should have known.

He did nothing.

Kerry believes “We need a new approach to national security - a bold, progressive internationalism that stands in stark contrast to the too often belligerent and myopic unilateralism of the Bush Administration.

GAG!!!

SENATOR KERRY FOUGHT TO SLASH INTELLIGENCE FUNDING BY AT LEAST $2.5 BILLION

1995: Proposed Bill Cutting $1.5 Billion From Intelligence Budget. Kerry introduced a bill that would “reduce the Intelligence budget by $300 million in each of fiscal years 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000.”There were no cosponsors of Kerry’s bill, which never made it to the floor for a vote. (S. 1290, Introduced 9/29/95)1995: Voted To Slash FBI Funding By $80 Million. (H.R. 2076, CQ Vote #480: Adopted 49-41: R 9-40; D 40-1, 9/29/95, Kerry Voted Yea)

1994: Proposed Bill To Gut $1 Billion From Intelligence And Freeze Spending For Two Major Intelligence Programs. Kerry proposed a bill cutting $1 billion from the budgets of the National Foreign Intelligence Program and from Tactical Intelligence, and freezing their budgets. The bill did not make it to a vote, but the language was later submitted (and defeated – see below) as S. Amdt. 1452 to H.R. 3759. (S. 1826, Introduced 2/3/94)

1997: Kerry Questioned Growth Of Intelligence Community After Cold War. “Now that that [Cold War] struggle is over, why is it that our vast intelligence apparatus continues to grow even as Government resources for new and essential priorities fall far short of what is necessary? …” (Senator John Kerry Agreeing That Critic's Concerns Be Addressed, Congressional Record, 5/1/97, p. S3891)

When His Bill Stalled In Committee, Kerry Proposed $1 Billion Cut As Amendment Instead. Kerry proposed cutting $1 billion from the National Foreign Intelligence Program and Tactical Intelligence budgets, and freezing their budgets. The amendment was defeated, with even Graham, Lieberman and Braun voting against Kerry. (Amdt.. To H.R. 3759, CQ Vote #39: Rejected 20-75: R 3-37; D 17-38, 2/10/94, Kerry Voted Yea; Graham, Lieberman And Braun Voted Nay)

Kerry continues to tout his book, "The New War," as evidence that he was ahead of the curve on terrorism.

I looked through the book - it isn't about the terrorism we have experienced. Kerry thought the primary threat to the world was mafia-like international criminal networks - mainly for pushing drugs.

Kerry was clueless then and he is clueless now

The funniest part is that Kerry refers to the message in his book as "a call to arms," but arms are the last thing he suggests in his book using against the criminals - it all about police and courts!

JOHN KERRY's RECORD ON INTELLIGENCE

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1067001/posts

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1083528/posts?page=7#7

Curiously enough the origianl page listed http://bjcat0.tripod.com/kerryrecord.htm
has been taken down -- I wonder if Kerry threatened to sue, as he did other sites, that said the truth about him.

http://www.gop.com/News/Read.aspx?ID=3982

September 29, 1995: Kerry Proposed S. 1290, Gutting $1.5 Billion From Intelligence Budget. The bill “[r]educe[d] the Intelligence budget by $300 million in each of fiscal years 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000.” S. 1290 had no cosponsors and never made it to the floor for a vote. (S. 1290, Introduced 9/29/95)

I wondered what was in his book.

But, he was chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Terrorism & Drugs. I thought it would be focused in that direction. Thanks for very good info.

Kerry, though, did get the intel briefings from Clarke and others.

That makes KERRY CULPABLE for 9/11! If Pres. Bush is culpable after 8 mos. with all the failures mentioned in the Senate report working against him, then Kerry is certainly culpable after being on the Senate Intel committee from the MOST IMPORTANT years of 1995 to 2001!
