Never crossed your mind?" the judge asked again. "No," Johnson answered.Either he lied or he is one of the least sensitive human beings I have known.

Here's the photo that goes along with the article (am posting so people can get an idea what this disgusting POS looks like):
Dr. LeRoy Carhart, the only doctor in Nebraska known to perform abortions after the 16th week of pregnancy, speaks to reporters in his Bellevue, Neb., office, Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003. At the request of Dr. Carhart and three other Nebraska doctors, U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf of Lincoln, Neb., issued a temporary restraining order on a federal ban on certain late-term abortions that President Bush signed into law Wednesday March 24, 2004. Carhart called judge Kopf's temporary injunctionagainst the ban on certain types of abortions a victory for American women. (AP Photo/Nati Harnik)

Sounds like this one is the last of his breed. A nice reminder of what we've lost.

It is obvious to anyone whose brain has not been sucked from his skull that the nine-month gestation period is a continuum, a process of gradual development of the baby, from the moment of conception to the moment of birth. The bozos who represent the "abortion on demand crowd" act as if all aspects of what it means to be human, including the propensity to feel pain, take place only when the baby emerges completely from the womb and is separated from the mother's body. That assertion is ridiculous, both from a medical and a common-sense point of view.

The judge responded, "Make it nice and palatable so that they wouldn't understand what it's all about?" Whoa, this judge doesn't talk like a Clinton appointee.

and give couples an intact fetus to grieve over. I often wonder, in pre-abortion counseling (isn't that supposed to be mandatory now?) if the couples are told that there is a very great possibility that they will regret their decision--every day--for the rest of their natural lives. Decades of regret. Every single day.
Some clocks you just cannot turn back.

I'm surprised that this judge is on this case...don't these people usually shop districts to challenge cases in so that they get a friendly judge?
It never ceases to amaze me how coldly these doctors describe these procedures. Much like those who went and lied outright to Congress about the frequency of partial birth abortions, I assume that it comes from having ZERO moral center.

An estimated 2,200 to 5,000 such abortions are performed annually in the United States, .......But all you hear in the national media is how many U.S. soldiers are killed in Iraq each day.

[ Johnson, though, said doctors merely want to be sensitive. "We try to do it in a way that's not offensive or gruesome or overly graphic for patients," Johnson said. ]
So that means the operation is gruesome, offensive, and graphic torture..

This is only part of the issue. Would abortion be OK if the baby were anesthetized?
