Psalm 127:3Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
We rejoice to call You Father; we praise You for Your grace and Your mercy. Though mankind lets us down, You are ever faithful and trustworthy, the same yesterday, today, and forever. You are the Anchor that we need in the stormy seas of current events and turbulent times. Forgive us our sins, Lord, and guide us into ever increasing faith in You, the Lord God Almighty!
We are grateful that the President signed into law today the Unborn Victims of Violence Act. It is but one small step but it is a recognition of the fact that the unborn deserve our protection. Let this be but the beginning of a move back to reverence for life and the acknowledgment that even in the womb we are Your children, known and loved by You.
Thank You for a President who speaks and acts for morality and decency. Lord, keep George W. Bush by Your side; speak to his heart through Your word and his time spent in prayer with You. Fill him with wisdom, discernment, patience, persistence, and peace that his words and deeds might reflect Your will. Comfort him and lighten the burdens that he carries. Bless Laura and bless their marriage, causing it to grow stronger each day that they may lean upon one another. Protect them and all their family from their enemies, both physical and spiritual.
We are still appalled at the horrendous deeds of yesterday. Lord, such evil can only come from satan and can only be overcome through Your love. The final victory has already been won but the battles being waged are fierce. The evil one is strong; but, Lord, we know that You are stronger and in You we place our trust. Sustain the family members who lost loved ones so cruelly and let them know Your love.
Our military daily face the threat of such brutality and we ask for Your protection for them. We lift up their loved ones who wait at home with anxiety and anticipation of the return home of their heroes.
Bless our nation, Father! Revive us that we may once again desire only to honor Your blessed Name and to obey Your commmandments. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the grave will not stand. When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by, you will be beaten down by it. -- Isa. 28:18
"For You have been a refuge to me, a strong tower in the face of the enemy...God, You have heard my vows; You have given a heritage to those who fear Your name. Add days to the king's life [Father, add days -- years -- to Pres. Bush's term in office]; may his years span many generations [Lord, may Pres. Bush's legacy, his impact for good on this nation and in this world, span for many generations]...Appoint faithful love and truth to guard him." -- Ps. 61:3, 5-7
We rejoice in the passage of the bill that enables life in the womb to be recognized as human. Too many words have been parsed, beginning with conception as to what is taking place within the womb. Life is a great gift from God, may we forever be grateful to the one's who deem it so, and to those who think otherwise, may the Lord have mercy on them....We are grateful for our President. May You, dear Jesus, endow him with wisdom, courage and patience, to lead us through the future years. Our country has been blessed with Your goodness, forgive our transgressions, as they are many. May those who have not heard of You, may their eyes be opened to Your love, for then and only then will they have found true Peace......St. Michael, keep watch over our troops stationed in foreign countries. Keep them free from all harm, physical or spiritual. Bless their families, strenghten their faith, for they are very special...In Jesus' name we pray
I voted for Bush, and supported him, because he was a Christian. I know that our country’s strength doesn't come from armaments, nor political ploys...it comes from Almighty God. The same God that says, “in your weakness, I am strong”. I knew that if our President had faith, and prayed to the Lord for our country, followed the Lord's wisdom, nothing could hurt us.
But, now we are hurting. Hurting badly. And contrary to what the Bible says about Godly men being respected by even their enemies...Bush is not respected. He is roundly despised!
Despite the prayers of millions of Christians throughout the world, calamity continues to bombard our country. I was perplexed, and went to the Lord to ask Him why these things keep happening, when the world knows that Bush is a Christian. Doesn't the Lord hurt his own name, with this trouble?
I read an article today, that quoted Bush as saying that all religions pray to the same God. Oh! There it is! That's the reason for our troubles!
Our God tells us plainly, in the Bible that Jesus is the only way. He is the truth and the light, no one can get to the Father, but by him. God also tells us plainly that he is a jealous God who does not share His glory with anyone. Bush is sharing his Glory—with the God of our enemies!
There is no reason for God to bless us, if we will not acknowledge that blessing, and give Him credit. He is going to humiliate us instead. Because God hates pride, more than all others. He will knock down our strong holds of pride. Our military, our money, our freedoms. If we don't depend on the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, and turn our backs on Him, making His sacrifice for nothing....we will become nothing instead. We are well on our way, and it is Bush's fault.
Get out your Bible, and spend some time with the great counselor. If you read 2 Samuel 24, you will see that God punishes the nation, when it's leader sins.
I am calling on all the prayer warriors to pray that President Bush will turn from this sin, repent and glorify our Lord and savior. Hurry! Pray that he would publicly ask forgiveness and call on our country to repent and pray. What in the world Bush have to lose, if he acknowledge the Lord, and as our leaders in the past have done, pray in the name of Jesus Christ? No one could hate him more than they already do! And he could save our nation.
Look back in our history, when our nation was the strongest, and see that our leaders trusted the Lord...the Trinity. They prayed in the Name of Jesus and they call upon the Holy Spirit! Why does Bush do less? Worship the Lord less, and we become less. Be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and you bring shame on yourself. Deny Jesus and he will deny you. Facts.
See what John Adams called Americans to do, when there was a breakout of Yellow Fever....
I do hereby recommend accordingly, that Thursday, the 25th day of April next, (Let us in 2008, take Sunday, Nov.2) be observed throughout the United States of America as a day of solemn humiliation, fasting, and prayer;
that the citizens on that day abstain as far as may be from their secular occupations, devote the time to the sacred duties of religion in public and in private;
that they call to mind our numerous offenses against the Most High God, confess them before Him with the sincerest penitence, implore His pardoning mercy, through the Great Mediator and Redeemer, for our past transgressions, and that through the grace of His Holy Spirit we may be disposed and enabled to yield a more suitable obedience to His righteous requisitions in time to come;
that He would interpose to arrest the progress of that impiety and licentiousness in principle and practice so offensive to Himself and so ruinous to mankind;
that He would make us deeply sensible that “righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people;”
that He would turn us from our transgressions and turn His displeasure from us;
that He would withhold us from unreasonable discontent, from disunion, faction, sedition, and insurrection;
that He would preserve our country from the desolating sword;
that He would save our cities and towns from a repetition of those awful pestilential visitations under which they have lately suffered so severely, and that the health of our inhabitants generally may be precious in His sight;
that He would favor us with fruitful seasons and so bless the labors of the husbandman as that there may be food in abundance for man and beast;
that He would prosper our commerce, manufactures, and fisheries, and give success to the people in all their lawful industry and enterprise;
that He would smile on our colleges, academies, schools, and seminaries of learning, and make them nurseries of sound science, morals, and religion;
that He would bless all magistrates, from the highest to the lowest, give them the true spirit of their station, make them a terror to evil doers and a praise to them that do well,
that He would preside over the councils of the nation at this critical period, enlighten them to a just discernment of the public interest, and save them from mistake, division, and discord;
that He would make succeed our preparations for defense and bless our armaments by land and by sea;
that He would put an end to the effusion of human blood and the accumulation of human misery among the contending nations of the earth by disposing them to justice, to equity, to benevolence, and to peace; and
that he would extend the blessings of knowledge, of true liberty, and of pure and undefiled religion throughout the world.
And I do also recommend that with these acts of humiliation, penitence, and prayer fervent thanksgiving to the Author of All Good be united for the countless favors which He is still continuing to the people of the United States, and which render their condition as a nation eminently happy when compared with the lot of others.
