FOX showed a clip of a news conference this morning. The President spoke about meeting with family of a fallen soldier, and as usual was emotional about it. When he finished, he said he'd answer a few questions, and then asked who the AP reporter was....the reporter identified himself and began to ask his question by saying, "Sir.......". The President quickly said, "Who are you talking to?" And the reporter immediately said, "Mr. President,....." It was Great! All the reporters afterward made sure they addressed him as Mr. President. LOL!

I know. I saw an interview last week with a retired military guy who suggested that the Pentagon let the "real" military people handle this conflict. Appears Rumsfeld's people have not served in combat? Is this true?

I think there is probably some history of disrespect from this reporter.

With all the media effort to disrespect this President and the office of President, I am glad he made his comment.
As someone else mentioned - it was a matter of respect for the office - not GWB.

Jewels, I watched the President give his statement after deciding Dr. Rice should testify before the 9-11 Commission. It was short, to the point, and he left the podium without taking questions. Before the clip ended, you could hear a reporter scream out "Why did it take you two weeks to make this decision?" The tone was incredibly disrespectful. I suspect that the President has calmly taken more than we will ever realize.

As someone else mentioned - it was a matter of respect for the office - not GWBA "FACT" conveniently forgotten by the media/press and MOST of the public when a Republican is holding the office.

AP and Reuters are both criminal organizations. It does absolutely NO good to contact them, I doubt they bother to read them.
Best response to these slimes is, whenever you meet someone who works for either AP or Reuters, spit on them and then turn your back. I know it's subtle, but if it happens long enough perhaps they might start to figure it out. But then, being AP or Reuters, maybe not.

This sounds a bit uncharacteristic of GWB. He doesn't tend to demand adulation.I suspect it is much less out of adulation requirements for GWB the person as it is that he respects the office so much. He insists that men must wear a coat and tie in the Oval Office and any interviewer must do likewise. X42 on the other hand let everything become a frat party. GWB respects the military, the Office of the President and established protocols. It's refreshing and it's right.

Could you please post a source for this serious allegation ---"AP collusion with the monsters in Fajullah"? Not that I don't believe what you are saying but I would like a source. If this is true there should be millions of emails and phone calls going to these creeps.

The media calls him "Mr Bush" on the nightly reports sometimes. It is an intentional slight borne of disrespect. And many in the media call Dr. Rice, Ms. Rice. With an emphasis on the Ms.
I've yet to hear any of these people call Jesse Jackson anything but Reverend either. And he's not even a real one!

"The United Nations is over there now. The United Nations representative is there now to work on the -- on a -- on to whom we transfer sovereignty." Sounds like someone didn't get a full 8hrs. last night.

http://www.nypost.com/postopinion/editorial/17910.htm "And don't think that Associated Press Television just happened to turn up at the right place at the right time for the burning and hacking of corpses.
After all, last week the AP had dramatic on-the-spot, perfectly timed, close-up photographs of insurgents firing RPGs at Coalition troops.
Clearly, someone at AP has a mutually beneficial relationship with the insurgents in Fallujah.
But, again, the U.S. mission in Iraq must - and will - prevail.
Not just because Iraqis will benefit - which, of course, they will.
But also because the establishment of freedom and democracy there eventually can help transform the region into something other than a breeding ground for terror.
That's in America's interest.
And the world's.
Make no mistake: The United States and its allies are winning, notwithstanding yesterday's butchery.
The challenge now is to stiffen resolve.
The U.S.-led Coalition must continue to stand firm.
We have no doubt it will."

As long as they don't call him Boooosh I'm ok with it. But I support him smacking down a reporter anytime he feels the need. Let's not forget who's who in this country.
