Speaking of al-Sadr's newspaper, which was shut down by coalition forces last week after it urged violence against U.S. troops, Kerry complained to National Public Radio, "They shut a newspaper that belongs to a legitimate voice in Iraq."

There is a special place in hell with Kerry's name on it

Sounds like Kerry is trying to appeal to the Deanies

I HOPE there is an audio tape copy of this

So, Kerry thinks an Iraqi agent and killer who is advocating the violent ouster of the United States and freedom from Iraq is a legitimate voice?

Kerry is not ill-informed or stupid. He is a hazard to America. In saner times, there would be no way he would even be in this Presidential contest.

But these are not "saner times".

OMG, why doesn't Kerry just grab a grenade launcher and join these 'insurgents'? He certainly couldn't do any more damage to the fighting men in Iraq than he is with his mouth. This guy is a threat to our national security.

I agree .... I just ... I just ..... I just .... can't believe ..... he said that. What friggin idiot.

I hope Rush L. NAILS HIS A$$ TO THE WALL for stating this.

I'm stills stunned over this. Who the hell side is this guy on.

"Well, let me . . . change the term legitimate. It belongs to a voice — because he has clearly taken on a far more radical tone in recent days and aligned himself with both Hamas and Hezbollah, which is a sort of terrorist alignment."

"Sort of a terrorist alignment"? So is Kerry saying that he's not really sure if Hamas and Hezbollah are really terrorists? This guy is a complete boob! I'm scared to think what this world would become if this terrorist appeaser got into the White House. That whole paragraph shows that he doesn't have a clue and doesn't belong anywhere near a position of power.

You are a terrorist appeaser and will NOT gain any credibility with ANYONE by saying this Sadr nut has a legit voice- especially since he wants to kill American soldiers.

Yup... as Eva said ... "Kerry returns to his roots."

If you'd like to be on or off this middle east/political ping list, please FR mail me.

John Kerry's legitimate voices (I'm sure he likes Tom Hayden too).

Muqtada al-Sadr:

"There is no use for demonstrations, as your enemy loves to terrify and suppress opinions, and despises peoples."

"I ask you not to resort to demonstrations because they have become a losing card and we should seek other ways, terrorize your enemy, as we cannot remain silent over its violations."

"Americans use sick soldiers to spread disease inside the Iraqi society."

"[T]he departure of Saddam was supposed to be followed by freedom and democracy. It is not desirable that a small devil will go to be followed by a larger devil. The mistake is not the departure of Saddam but what came after him in terms of despotism and terrorism."

No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses

Since Kerry made this statement on an NPR station, that clause will get him off the hook.
