About those Japanese "Hostages"...

This story is just beginning to break, but the so-called Japanese hostages may actually be a staged event by leftist Japanese anti-war protesters operating inside Iraq.
Read the following post from the LittleGreenFootballs.com website and be sure to follow the links.

I emailed this to Charles but it's worth posting here too: Many new and (potentially) extremely disturbing and ironic details have emerged on the Japanese-kidnapped-in-Iraq situation.
Firstly, and most importantly, is the post by A Japanese Reader (#102 in this earlier LGF thread.)
The second is Allah's postings of the victims in captivity and what they did before they left Japan: Allah's photos.
Thirdly, AP apparently has the video online here: AP video, though I personally can't get it to work.
In short: the Japanese victims are extremist LLL "anti-war" activists who went to Iraq to give support to the "resistance." (Talk about naive -- the ULTIMATE in naivité). Furthermore, the entire kidnapping may have been STAGED. Third (what I think happened): The kidnapping may have initially started out as a staged incident, but it became REAL when the cooperative Iraqi "pretend" kidnappers turned on their Japanese co-conspirators and made it into an actual hostage situation.
More details on what the kidnappers said: Kidnapping renews debate in Japan over role in Iraq
"Three of your children have fallen into our hands. We give you two choices: Withdraw your forces from our country and go home or we will burn them alive and feed them to the fighters. We will do with them more than what we did with the Jews in Fallujah," the statement continued. In the same article, the Japanese mother of a victim demands that the US (!!!) withdraw from Iraq as well, to save her wayward son:
"As far as I can see from satellite television, it looks like my son," Naoko Imai, the mother of Noriaki Imai, told a television station. "I want both the Japanese troops and the United States to withdraw from Iraq."
One of the kidnap victims (Soichiro Koriyama) won a Japanese photo contest with his photos "he took in Israel" (considering his political views, it's easy to guess what kind of photos they were):
Yomiuri Shimbun (sorry this only links to the front page of the paper -- can't seem to link directly to each article -- here's the quote):
"According to the Fukuoka headquarters of The Asahi Shimbun, Koriyama works as a freelance photographer for the Weekly Asahi on a contract basis. Koriyama covered international news stories and won an award in The Yomiuri Shimbun's photo contest in January 2002 with photos he took in Israel."

Freeper American_in_Tokyo (who speaks Japaneses) was the first one to actually dig in and find the info, yesterday within a couple of hours after it happened. He noticed a document in the background of the videotapes and found a website belonging to one of the hostages, at least 2 of whom turn out not to be aid workers, but wandering peaceniks. I hope he relayed the information to the press.
I suspect that they actually are hostages, however, because nobody ever said peaceniks were bright. They probably honestly expected to be loved by these Islamic nutcases.

I think they really are hostages too. All of these aid workers are dim. Couple hundred of these good-will peaceniks got their heads removed in Chechnya over the years.

"I think they really are hostages too." Then you might want to take another look at the article.
The following translated message came from one of the so-called hostages prior to the so-called "hostage taking". It can be found at the first link in the above article:
"Noriaki Imai posted in a thread, with the title 'Big secreat Plan!' on April 7, 2004 09:57 'I have met the freelance journalist from Weekly Asahi today! After we chatted a while, he told me a big plan! It might be great. I think this will be a great achievement in history, and miss takato is also interested, so I think it's worth doing.'
That message sounds damning to me.
