Given all of the negative propaganda that we have been fed, for months, not just the major batch dished up in the last few days, I am truly amazed at these results. If only we had an unbiased press . . . .

Looks like the media's dream of "Tet2" is going up in flames. IMHO Tet68 was the high-water mark of the institutional media, when they turned a catastrophic communist defeat into a decisive victory. NVA commander Vo Nguyen Giap has said as much in his book, How We Won the War.

In the late 60s, perhaps 10 people controlled the entire flow of information in the US, and no more than 3 or 4 in Britain. Today it is very different. Outlets have proliferated, the idea of a socialist talking head like Cronkite being "the most trusted man in America" is laughable, and any one of us can make daily contact through the net with eyewitnesses in any part of the world.

Media power has been declining for years, slowly at first and more precipitously in recent years. The media lords are feeling the heat. I think they have lost touch with reality, like Hitler in his bunker, and are trying desperately to revive the unbridled power that their predecessors enjoyed in the 60s.

This poll does not surprise me at all.

With all the Democrat talk about this being George Bush's Viet Nam, I would urge you to read my column on the Real VietNam's political impact in the voting booth.

Click here to see what Viet Nam did for Republicans during the Viet Nam War!!

People like Teddy Kennedy and John Kerry hope Americans have changed since 1972. This poll says we are pretty much the same people we were back then. That will be a great surprise to Democrats in 2004 as it was in 1972.

...found that most Americans still believe the Iraq war was right, weren't surprised by the new attacks and are confident that the United States will regain control of areas of unrest like Fallujah.

Extraordinary. What are the dimms and elite media going to do now?

...55 percent of Democrats say it was wrong...54 percent of Democrats think he was lying...

With the 3% +/- margin of error, this poll demonstrates that democrats are split virtually 50/50 on the Iraq war issue. Given all the partisan attacks on president Bush, it's comforting to know that a large number of democrats disagree with the Bush-hating radical leftwing of their party.

Oh, there was a poll this favorable to our beloved President? Who knew?

It's going to be up to us to call into our local radio stations and mention this poll. Email it around the country and make sure our acquaintances hear all about it!

But Democrats tilted the opposite way - 48 percent said the United States is unlikely to achieve its goals in Iraq and should reduce its military efforts...

Doom, gloom, dismal, drizzle, drip, dour, abysmal.....

Put another way, the majority of Americans agree with the war in Iraq and favor leveling that town, while less than 50% of Demonrats think it's a bad idea.

Why are we in such a rush to leave Iraq now? Finish the job, kill everyone shooting at Americans and move on to Syria. I thought this war was suppose to last decades?

As the liberal media in this country increases it's attack on our President there will be a corresponding increase in the attacks on our troops in Iraq.

The time to make those responsible aware of the consequences of their actions is now, before any more troops are attacked.

Last night on the local news here in Albuquerque they showed the homecoming of a lady sergeant with the Army's Airborne unit who had been away for 15 months. She apparently worked on civil pacification in Iraq. She arrived at the airport to be received by relatives and friends. When the other people standing in line to go through security saw her and the reception, they all started applauding.

She was interviewed by the TV station and told them upfront, and these are her words, that despite the media bias, the majority of the Iraqi people, and especially those she worked with, are happy that we liberated them. She also stated that she would go back and do it all over again if she needed to.

I was very happy for her and also that our military people understand our true purpose in going there, unlike the media and the opposition politicans. If I see an article about this, I will post it here.

But the poll taken Thursday found sharp partisan splits on whether the Iraq war was justified and whether to get tougher - with independents generally siding with Republicans.

And this is why you can NOT have a democrat in the Whitehouse during tough times. The American people know it. Democrats could come out pretending to be war mongers and the people would see through them. Especially Kerry with his anti-war background. We KNOW we are in a fight for our lives.

Overall, a majority, including 79 percent of Republicans and 52 percent of independents, believe America was right to go to war with Iraq. Nonetheless, 55 percent of Democrats say it was wrong.

By the same token, 72 percent of Republicans and 56 percent of independents say overthrowing Saddam Hussein was enough justification for the Iraq war, but 55 percent of Democrats disagree and say it wasn't enough.

Also, 83 percent of Republicans and 61 percent of independents believe President Bush told the truth when he said he believed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. By contrast, 54 percent of Democrats think he was lying. Despite those partisan splits, 70 percent said they're somewhat or very confident the United States will regain control in Iraq, including 59 percent of Democrats.

There was little support for increasing the number of troops - only one in four favors that approach.

The poll also found 54 percent of Americans (including Democrats) want the United States to stick to its timetable of turning over power to Iraqis on June 30, as Bush has vowed, rather than delay the transfer, as Democrat presidential nominee John Kerry has urged.

President Bush is still in a strong position regarding the war in Iraq.

It's hard to keep things in perspective, but if you'll recall the first night of our ground assault a recently Islamofied Ranger threw a grenade into the officer tent, kiling two good men. We shot down a British jet because he forgot to turn on his ID signal. A Marine drowned when ordered to swim across a levy fully loaded.

We were stuck in the sand. We had a pause in operations that PROVED that we didn't properly plan the supply line. Clinton's perfumed princes Wesley and Barry were appalled by the force level and support staffing. Copters crashed. Suicide bombers blew up check points. Our mechanics and cooks were separated from the convoy and killed or captured. We had female POWs. We (I still say it was a Turkish F-15) dropped a bomb on a Kurdish unit, killing several including a top leader and sending a Sky News reporter into a "Oh the humanity" hysteria. This operation has never succeeded, the troops have always been losing faith and low on morale, the resistance has always been "widespread, unexpected and fierce", and the whole thing was a quagmire. The guys don't have enough MRE's! They're sharing ammo, where's the supply line and why did we go with insufficient force levels? The press and operatives were wondering where the WMDs were on day three or so.

"It's Rumsfeld's fault for not listening to his experienced Generals like Eric Shinseki. It's Franks' fault for not War planning the fierce resistance throughout Iraq. It's Powell's fault for not blocking the Turk's 11th hour denial ... why didn't he fly there like Jim Baker would have? Why aren't the Brits going into Basra, now? Why are they waging a PC war? The Marines are moving too fast for their supply lines! The Marines are advancing too slowly in Kut. We were killing civilians at checkpoints too quickly, and we don't kill successful suicide bombers quickly enough. We shot up a car full of women and kids. A car of women and kids killed three Marines with a suicide car bombing at a checkpoint."

Baghdad was in a chaos of looting and arson, nope it was civilians looting the Presidental Palaces and Baathist offices. Baghdad museum was robbed of its collection of priceless, irreplacable ancient artifacts. Bush didn't secure the Museum, but he sure grabbed hold of those oil wells! Oops, the artifacts were removed for safe keeping and are all accounted for. We fired a tank round and killed an Al Jazeera cameraman on purpose. We encountered "fierce resistance" by Shi'ia civilians in Baghdad.

And ... "if they don't get Saddam pretty soon, Bush will blow hist re-election."

This entire endeavor has been reported to be teetering on total disaster from the conclusion of the President's UN speech September, 2002. We've abandoned our allies, we've gone in alone, we need credibility and World support. And, every soldiers death is added to the KIA number suffered since "The President announced the end of Military Operations on May 1" That mantra is being pounded shamelessly to imply another Bush lie or incompotence. We're on track. We've got the best Officers directing the best warriors on Earth in well planned, well timed excellence. I trust our professionals.
