PETA Plans 'Live Make-Out' Show On State Street
Wisc TV ^ | 4/9/4

Posted on 04/12/2004 7:16:34 AM PDT by presidio9

Two People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals members plan to set up a bed on a State Street sidewalk this weekend to prove that vegetarians make better lovers. The stunt is part of the animal rights group's "Live Make-Out Tour."

PETA activists say they will be on hand with a banner reading, "Vegetarians Make Better Lovers" and pass out free "vegetarian starter kits."

PETA officials say vegetarians are better than meat-eaters in the bedroom because on average, they are more fit and trim and have more energy and stamina than meat-eaters.

"What could be more of a turn-on than snuggling up to someone who's both passionate and compassionate?" asks PETA's vegan campaign director Bruce Friedrich. "Try a veggie burger in the kitchen for a whopper in the bedroom!"

The couple plans to set up in the 700 block of State Street at 2 p.m. Sunday.

PETA's "Live Make-Out Tour" is also set to hit Oklahoma City; Little Rock, Ark.; Wichita, Kan.; Omaha, Neb.; Buffalo, N.Y.; Lansing, Mich.; Toronto; Des Moines, Iowa; and Pittsburgh.

heh, i've been reading up on some of my lineage again.

turns out the Celts, Angles, Saxons, and Vikings owe alot of their reputation for being big, strong, and physically dominant to the fact that they ate so much kipper! fish provides abundant vitamins that you just wouldnt get with veggies unless you stuffed yourself into a comma.

Don't you eat fowl & fish in a regular vegan lifestyle, when I was a kid the vegatarians of the 80's & 90's seemed like they were a whole different grade of people in relation to these nutcases.

There are vegans who try to avoid as much meat and dairy in their diet as possible. There are vegans who are label readers who obsess over every ingredient in the food label. Then there are those like PETA who go veg for political reasons. Oddly enough, these types also support abortion so I don't get the have more sex bit. Vegetarians are the ones you may find eating eggs and perhaps fish, but definately not beef or even chicken.

Fish & Fowl are a very good way to get protein, however today's vegatarians seem to think that if it doesn't grow from the ground they aren't allowed to eat it. Now that just won't cut it for a strapping young man or woman, even if you're drinking protein shakes which PETA won't like because it comes from milk and of course that's cruel and unusual punishment for the animal.

An exchange seen on slashdot.org last week:

"I'm a vegetarian, and I run 10 miles a week."

slashdotter's response: "Perhaps if you ate meat you wouldn't have to spend so much time running from predators."

I grew up eating salted fish and goat's milk... of course here it's very expensive but the PETA folks would even argue that keeping a dairy goat for the milk is robbing the goat babies of the milk *LOL*

You left out the really weird ones, who will eat human placenta, but no other animal product.

I did not just make that up.

Pffft - herbivores.

I've tried the veggie lifestyle. All I got out of it was physical weakness and a hella case of gas.

Give me a thick, bloody slab of beef over a tofu salad any day!

I don't know about that. I am a vegetarian but I am not a nut about it, I make exceptions- I still eat fish, fowl, beef, pork, lamb, goat and wild game - but only in season and only if its cooked.

Are you kidding me? Their are actually people who really eat something like that and their not starring in some movie like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Wow that's bizarre to say the least.

Placenta Recipes (Mothering Magazine, September 1983, Vol. 28, pg 76) Each placenta weighs approximately 1/6 of the baby's weight. Cut the meat away from the membranes with a sharp knife. Discard the membranes.
Placenta Cocktail: 1/4 cup raw placenta, 8oz V-8 juice, 2 ice cubes, 1/2 cup carrot. Blend at high speed for 10 seconds

Placenta Lasagne: Use your favorite lasagne recipe and substitute this mixture for one layer of cheese. In 2 tbl. olive oil, quickly saute meat of 3/4 placenta, ground or minced plus 2 sliced cloves of garlic, 1/2 tsp. oregano, 1/2 diced onion & 2 tbl. tomato paste, or 1 whole tomato.

Placenta Spaghetti: Cut meat of 3/4 placenta into bite size pieces, then brown quickly in 1 tbl. butter plus 1 tbl. oil. Then add 1 large can tomato puree, 2 cans crushed pear tomatoes, 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 tbl. molasses, 1 bay leaf, 1 tbl. rosemary, 1 tsp. ea. of salt, honey, oregano, basil, and fennel. Simmer 1 1/2 hours.

Placenta Stew: Meat of 3/4 placenta in bite size chunks, 1 potato (cubed), 1/4 cup fresh parsley, 2 carrots, 3 ribs celery, 1 zucchini, 1 large tomato, 1 small onion. Dredge meat in 1 tbl. flour mixed with 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp. paprika, pinch of cloves, pinch of pepper, 6-8 crushed coriander seeds. Saute meat in 2 tbl. oil, then add vegetables (cut up) and 4-5 cups of water. Bring to full boil, then simmer for 1 hour.

Placenta Pizza: Grind placenta. Saute in 2 tbl. olive oil with 4 garlic cloves, then add 1/4 tsp fennel, 1/4 tsp. pepper, 1/4 tsp paprika, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. oregano, 1/4 tsp. thyme, and 1/4 cup of wine. Allow to stand for 30 minutes, then use with your favorite home made pizza recipe. It's a fine placenta sausage topping.

A human can't fit into a comma, regardless. You can however, sqeeze into a exclamation point if you hold your breath. :^)

I am not a nut about either. If my mother cooks and I don't eat, she gets very insulted and I get the speech about being a 'wasteful American brat'. The label readers amaze me. Some won't eat sugar because maybe they might have been whitened using animal bones? Honey is bee vomit, etc. but the best one I heard was eggs are chicken menses *LOL* My aunt just died at 104 living off of fresh goat milk and eggs. There's nothing like country living if one wants to eat healthy fresh meat or meat products.

Don't you eat fowl & fish in a regular vegan lifestyle,Nope. Vegans will not even even eat milk or eggs. There are ovo lacto vegitarians which will do that. In general all vegitarians will not eat anything "with a face", so some might eat shellfish. There are 'fruitarians' who will eat only fruit.

Hogwash. A friend of mine gathered a bunch of us together one day to help him dig a root cellar on his farm. It was hard work in the hot sun. The first to crap out were the veggies. They didn't make it a third of the way through the task at hand.

I hope they try that in my town.

I'd love the chance to counter-protest with my BBQ grill - handing out free burgers and hot dogs for people to snack on while watching these idiots.

Yeah... um, should we have the anti-anorexia people complain to the vegetarians about the equation between being weak, fragile, bony and anemic with being "fit"?

Nothing ruins making out worse that a broken rib.
