Gorelick Caught In Lie - Gorelick Says She Did Not Author or Sign the "WALL" Memo

Gorelick Caught In Lie - Gorelick Claims She Did Not Author or Sign the Memo That Bears Her Name and Initials.
When asked specifically by CNN's Wolf Blitzer if she wrote the "memorandum in '95 that helped establish the so-called walls between the FBI and CIA," Gorelick distanced herself from the matter:
"No, and again, I would refer you back to what others on the commission have said. The wall was a creature of statute. It's existed since the mid 1980s. And while it's too lengthy to go into, basically the policy that was put out in the mid-nineties, which I didn't sign, wasn't my policy by the way, it was the attorney general's policy, was ratified by Attorney General Ashcroft's deputy as well in August of 2001. So we are just going to move on from this. This is not a basis for resignation."

159 - "I disagree. The memo says the new procedures "go beyond what is legally required." She was taking a really bad statutory policy and deliberately making it worse. That's why she lied about signing the memo."

Exactly what I have been trying to say - a major policy shift, with no authority.

THIS COMMITTEE HAS BECOME A JOKE. When it's finished with it's report recommendation....NO ONE WILL BE STUPID ENOUGH TO TRUST IT.

No one (with any intelligence) will be stupid enough to trust it BUT THE LEFTIST MEDIA WILL QUOTE THE REPORT 24/7 until the scum of America start believing it. sad but true.

Kerry is the modern day Chamberlin. For all his claims about "staying the course" what Kerry is REALLY advocating is surrender to, and appeasement of, Islamic Terrorirism. Kerry is our Neville Chamberlin

I realized this as soon as I started reading Expat's reply. I really felt dumb not picking up on that quote. Thanks for your post.

The news hasn't mentioned Swaleh Naqvi since 1995. He was sentenced to "more than 8 years" in October 1994... and according to the Bureau of Prisons, he was released 8/30/99. I wouldn't doubt some of the $$$$ ended up funding the terrorists... as well as the Clinton Arkansas gang.

Sometimes I really believe that the dems were not so much concerned that the trade centers & Pentagon were attacked, but that the perpetrators didn't do more (take out the WH, etc.) while they were at it! It would be easy to believe some of the conspiracy things about the dems b/c they do hate us all so much!

The truth is stranger than fiction.

"They have good reason to hate us...after all, we sent the Crusaders to try and conquer them." -- Bill Clinton

Then there is the Rockefeller memo.

On November 5, 2003, Americans were given an unprecedented look inside the Democrats' war, when Fox News published an astoundingly revealing (memorandum) from within the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, describing how Democrats on the Committee intend to use their positions, influence, and access to information - not to help win the war on terror, or to protect American citizens - but to undermine the Bush Administration. The memo describes their agreement to launch an "independent investigation" as a means to that end, timed to coincide with the 2004 presidential campaign. The purpose of a real investigation, of course, is to gather information, analyze it, and arrive at a conclusion. But the memo makes it clear that the Democrats on the Intelligence Committee have already reached their conclusions. This "investigation" is a sham, intended purely to support and publicize their political agenda."

Rep Sensenbrenner [sp?] is right: this commission is a joke. How on earth did they find Republicans who hate Bush as much as the Democraps?

With Gorelick sitting there, it is easy to dismiss the commission's findings as partisan hatred.

I have been saying for at least a year [to whomever will listen] that IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE A REPUBLICAN today, because you would have to admit to being a total coward; when -pubbies meet consevatives they talk a great line; but when they get in a room with Demorats, they become Demorats - just like a chameleon.

A pox on them all.

More on Gorelick, terrorism and The Wall.

Could OKC 'silver bullet' have prevented 9-11?

Oklahoma City, TWA Flight 800, and the Gorelick connection

So according to this memo, the DOJ knew about the Phillipines plan to hijack and CRASH airliners.

This is contradictory to Rices claim that the administration had no evidence to support the use of hijackings in any way other than bargaining chips to release comrades in custody.

I guess it is possible Condi did not know about project Bojinka, but she should have. Further, the Clinton Admin (Clarke in particular) should have made a point to tell her. That communication should have been documented, and if it really happened, it would have been documented. The melvin Lattimore/Menepta (okc bomb) connection to the 20th hijacker Z Moussaui (sp?) should have blown open the investigation prior to 9-11.

I cannot see how the connection was not made.

to show how far the FBI has declined, can you imagine Hoover getting a memo like that and not telling the author to put it where the sun don't shine?

Your second paragraph is true enough....

..but necessary inlight of what Carter did to us, IMO.

But we all surely know X-42's administration (& jamie gorelick) used their wicked machinations to gin it up for their own evil reasons.

Incredible she (Gorelick) was so deep into building "The Wall" between the CIA and the FBI to include her documented endorsement of official letterhead and turns around and denies it does not disqualify her from unbiased participation on the 9/11 commission.

Are we getting raped?

The Utterly Absolutely Disgraced 911 Commission [by their own choice]

What did Jamie Gorelick know, and when did she know it?
