April 16, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - New questions surfaced yesterday about 9/11 commissioner Jamie Gorelick's potential conflicts of interest after it was revealed she was more deeply involved in anti-terror efforts than has previously been known. Records obtained by The Post show that Gorelick, while serving in a top job at the Justice Department, met every two weeks with George Tenet, then the No. 2 official at the CIA, and headed then-Attorney General Janet Reno's national-security team.

Asked whether her role in the Justice Department posed a conflict of interest for Gorelick - who is scrutinizing the terror policies under Clinton and Bush - a 9/11 commission official responded, "She was appointed by Sen. [Tom] Daschle. We didn't do the vetting. He did." LOL .. now they are pointing the blame on Dashole

Sort of interesting that Daschle appointed Gorelick to this commission. Daschle was an Intelligence Officer in the Army.

Gorelick didn't return a phone call for comment. That's because she couldn't remember if she had bugged it or not.

This should cause the immediate resignation or removal of Gorelick without further question. But there is a more fundamental question that has yet to be asked. And that is how did she get on the commission in the first place? Just the FACT that she was PART OF THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION ALONE should have prevented her from even being considered.
To: kattracks
Gorelick didn't return a phone call for comment. I guess that gracefully stepping down, and putting country before self is out of the question.
After all the sole goal of this whole "charade" is to do nothing but find a way to improve our defense against freedom haters who carry malice against our way of life. Right?
Partisan politics are not a part of this whole "charade". Nope, not in any way, shape, or form.

You know .. I never thought of Dashole's early days and what he did
Daschle, a native of Aberdeen, and a 1969 graduate of South Dakota State University, served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command from 1969-72. He worked for U.S. Senator James Abourezk for five years, then was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1978.

met every two weeks with George Tenet
then why did not Tenet spill this on his little "interview"?
oh right!
He's a Clinton appointee too!
Ashcroft surely knew this.
And now the rest of the nation knows... Gorelick is on the panel to PROTECT BILL AND HILLARY from damage... SHE is the canary in the mineshaft, for potential blowback.
A few more such "revelations" about her and a few other panel members... and this "investigation" will be brought to a quick halt. The skeletons in the closet are a rattlin'.
The cover up, that was well underway, is now at least partially exposed... enough that the press will begin to lose interest... their lord and savior bill clinton is in danger... and they WILL look the other way, even calling for an end to the "circus".
all for the love of bill.
gorelick is the fall dyke.
I would avoid plane flights were I in her situation.
She is one who probably knows WHO buried the bodies... if not when and where.

The whole commission is compromised and should be disbanded immediately. All information gathered to this point should be classified and taken under protective custody until AFTER the election.
We are at war. This is not the time to be doing this.

The 9/11 commission is a joke. Their partisanship is a joke. Gorelick would be a glaring, huge joke, if her mistakes with national security hadn't been so deadly.
Im afraid that Gorelick knows much, much more. I suspect she was put on the commission to keep her from testifying. Im suspicious
.shes knows things that are so damaging that theyve entered into prearranged conspiracy to keep it from coming out.

From FoxNews Channel - Hannity and Colmes 4-14-2004
Dick Morris: This woman [Gorelick] is bad news. She RAN the Justice Department for three years. Reno was a FIGUREHEAD during that period. And it was her invention to setup this WALL separating investigators from intelligence gatherers. So when Zacharias Moussaui was arrested in Minneapolis for taking flight lessons, I write about this in "Off with Their Heads", the prosecutors were going after him on an immigration violation. And they couldn't let the intelligence types look at his computer, which had the NAMES and the FLIGHT SCHOOLS of the 9/11 hijackers, listed there.
And then the Supreme Court ruled that Gorelick's rule, was unnecessary. They overturned it. So THIS woman is MORE responsible than ANYBODY for 9/11 going undetected.
Alan Colmes: ...[but] she DID recuse herself from cross-examining some of the law enforcement and intelligence officials...
Morris: I want to repeat what I just said. Of ALL of the public officials in the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, the ONE who is MOST directly responsible, in my judgement, for 9/11 happening, is Jamie Gorelick.
Colmes: You like pointing fingers, huh.
Sean Hannity: We ought to put HER under oath. THAT'S what ought to happen!
Morris: That WALL of separation was SO DESTRUCTIVE.

Incredible. Yet...Mr. Tenet didn't feel this important enough to mention during his testimony.
What a total sham.

This lady needs to be under oath before the committee. And hopefuly she won't pull the same trick that Reno did before the committee: "I'm sorry, I need guidance, I don't know what is and isn't classfied anymore," which got her off the hook and left the public with 45 minutes of softball questions.

You would think the last straw for the commission's existence would be the outing of the CIA spymaster. If that isn't enough to get anyone's attention like the Valerie Plame brouhaha and totally discredit the commission as well as the 9-11 hags, more information about this cow isn't going to be the last straw for her.

Exactly right, and get this:
turns out she had weekly meetings with CIA director Tenet.
She recused herself from asking him questions,
but WHY didn't he mention their meetings during his testimony?
This is beyond a sham.
I'd call it a conspiracy to smear and defeat POTUS.

Looks as if we are beginning to see a shadow government being identified.
Looks like we have identified the "bullets" but what we do not know yet is who was the "shooter" the HEAD of the shadow government.
There had to be a specific incident in the Clinton Administration that caused Gorlick's MEMO and who knows what else was done to give terrorists access to cause harm.
The Clintons only enemy was "right wing extremists", which they deliberately sought to make one and the same as terrorists.
WHAT was the real agenda? Where was Congress? No wonder these liberals are so ticked off about algore not stealing that election of 2000.

I have a better idea. How about she testifies before congress under oath where she should be? Let it all hang out where the answers should come out. Not some proxy partisan witch hunt.(Otherwise known as the Kerry campaign II)

She was the key Clinton plant at DOD to try to lift the bar on gays in the military. She was DOD General Counsel at the time.
Also she had an interesting role in the BNA/Bank of America scandal, if I recall.

What drives the democrats crazy is that the Homeland Security Department is tying all the responsible agencies together. In the end, the president will get the credit for fixing the problem, regardless of who started the problems, or ignored them along the way.

I think you're on to something.
All the calls for Gorelick's resignation are going nowhere. The mediaCrats won't pick up the drumbeat and the other commisioners are afraid their past roles will come under scrutiny.
Better to change the drumbeat: DEMAND THAT SHE TESTIFY---IN PUBLIC---UNDER OATH! How could they resist that, given their incessant demands that Condi et al do so?! Now, if the commision decides she has to resign in order to testify? Well, that's their problem.

Just not before 'that' committee as it has been thoroughly compromised. Being that some of them are sticking up for her on a personal basis, then they too have a conflict of interest. Any credibility that it 'may' have had at one time has now gone down the tubes.
