'Apprentice' loser Kwame Jackson debates job offer from 'Benefactor' Mark Cuban
Reality TV World ^ | April 17, 2004 | Wade Paulsen

Posted on 04/17/2004 9:33:11 AM PDT by FairOpinion

According to Extra!, Mark Cuban, the billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks NBA team, made a "huge job offer" to Kwame after Bill Rancic was hired by Trump instead of Kwame. Kwame told Extra! that Cuban had waited for hours at The Apprentice after-show cast party before finally cornering Kwame so that he could make the offer.

Cuban is an honest American success story. Born middle-class in Pittsburgh, Cuban went to Indiana University, where he honed his sales skills. After graduation, he started a computer consulting company -- although he knew nothing about computers. However, by a combination of his own drive, a little blarney and some good employees, Cuban eventually built the company, MicroSolutions, Inc., into a powerhouse that he sold to CompuServe for millions in 1990, seven years after its founding.

Prior to the job offer from Cuban, Fox News reported that Kwame had been offered the chance to return to his old firm, the NYC investment bank Goldman Sachs, at a substantial salary. However, Kwame turned the offer down and instead had planned to start a business with some friends of his focused on raising capital for black-run firms that focused on the upscale market.

I think it hinges on how much of the original artwork is used.
The "This Modern World" cartoon totally used Dilbert and Dogbert duplicates, as themselves. It was an attempted slam on "Dilbert" as being a tool of capitalism, diverting the attention of the workers from the "real enemy".

What amazed me was one of the biggest wastes of ink and trees ever to appear in print was taking an (albeit lame) shot at one of the funniest and most incisive cartoons ever. It's kind of like William Hung saying Charlotte Church can't sing. Yet it used the target's art and developed characters, but was apparently not a copyright violation.

Would better than working for Trump. I can see Bill being like a UPS brownie... earning every penny of that salary.

"let me ask a question.

http://www.trumpfiresbush.com/

Isn't this a copyright infringement? "

====

I sent this to NBC -- more people should to make sure they don't overlook it.

This is a BLATANT, UNAMBIGUOUS copyright infringement of The Apprentice.

You're dead on. The move on Sam's part was BRILLIANT!!! Put Trump on the spot on LIVE National TV!!! If you've read "Art of the Deal", you'll know that this was a very TRUMP thing to do. Even the Donald commented that "What he did isn't that stupid, you know."

Sam built up a company with a friend, so he can't be as much of an idiot, as he appeared on occasion.

"After a year in the corporate world, Sam returned to the DC area in 1999 and co-founded an Internet media company called Potomac Tech Wire. Tech Wires since launched in seven other markets in the U.S. and Europe. Sam oversees sales and business development for all the Tech Wires "

But at the beginning I thought she'd [Omorasa] go all the way.

Near as I can tell, that's how she has/will advance(d) her "career." Anyone that would hire a bald-faced liar who is a spotlight-seeker to boot would have to be thw worst capitalist ever (thus her job in Politics)

Yeah, she worked in Gore's office. Lots of photo-op shots like that on her website.

Cuban is reputed to be a way better boss than Trump. It's like the difference between working for the late Al Lerner and David Modell.

Modell. You had to ruin my Saturday, didn't you?

Sam wasn't interested in the money, he seems to have enough. He is a genuine admirer of Trump and wanted to learn from him.

I think if someone has a personality like Trump it would be easier. You're right that it seems he has enough money... I thought that briefcase thing was bizarre *lol*

That's all I could find.

NBC e-mail:
NBCiQuestions@nbc.com

I put *** COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT of The Apprentice *** in the title, and started the text with

ATT: NBC LEGAL Department.

Then told them, I thought they would want to know about this blatant copyright infringement at:

http://www.trumpfiresbush.com/

I hope you and others will write to them as well, to make sure it doesn't get overlooked.

Thanks for offering up some alternative information regarding Sam. It's nice to know there may be some basis for not thinking the guy is a kook.

Actually both fArt and "Honey" have been flushed out of the Baltimore organization, except for extremely limited roles. He moved the team solely so David could inherit it (everyone in Cleveland hated the little whiner with his personal motto of "do you know who I AM?" except Art and Pat) and that goal is officially unreached.

The rumor I've heard about Sam's briefcase of money is that it was Samsonite's money... they used it to get an on-air plug. Sam said "I have $250,000 in this Samsonite briefcase."
