No, no, no.
I don't believe you.
The economy is the worst in 400 years.
Nobody is hiring.
The fat cats are just coasting.
You're imagining it.

Not possible. The PatBots and KerryBots have proof that all american tech jobs have been outsourced. These jobs have been permanently lost. We all know that, don't we?
To: So Cal Rocket
To be fair, there are about 10 jobs going to China and india. Hopefully Air America won't get ahold of that tid bid of info, or Bush's re-election is sunk!

I saw this guy the other day during an interview; he was starting an IT firm and needed people, consultants told him to take his company to India, that there he could pay his employees $40,000 in stead of $80,000. So the guy puts an ad in the local paper offering jobs for $40,000 and had qualified people knocking his door down.

I don't know about worst in 400 years, but it is clearly far worse than the great depression!
Seriously! DU told me!
I am not kidding. Someone over there posted a thread a few months back making the claim it was worse than the Great Depression. A poster, with a 1000+ post count (the highest you can get, and a true lefty looney from he previous posts I had seen) disagreed and called the poster and those who agreed with him insane and listed various economic factors (25% unemployment for one) from the depression.
He was immediately attacked by his fellow DUers for suggesting that it wasn't worse than the great depression.
They are truly dellusional over there.

That's only a low 6 figure salary before taxes.
I don't know if I would want to work in Iraq or Afghanistan for that.

there are more than a few under 30 people and soon to be college grads that will find IT work at 40K to be a very good place to be working. IT pricing got out of control and many people with poor skills made too much money, the cycle is reversing and quality will rule pricing again.

Qualcomm has been hiring for years now. Hopefully they are for real this time. I'm just waiting for Qualcomm to say that they couldn't fill the jobs so they need some more H-1B's.

If you work off-shore, the first 80K or so is tax free.
