Yeah, great book, "Topaz" - it's the story of how we used human intel to confirm the Cuban missle crisis. They also made it into a movie. The book was better. This story was a prelude to the actual "crisis" wherein Kennedy initiated the blockade and went to the UN and showed the world the pictures of the missle silos.

Carter Tells Venezuela's Chavez Recall Delay Hurts Credibility ***``The verification process has taken four months instead of the one month envisioned,'' Carter wrote in a letter released by Venezuela's Information and Communications Ministry. ``The credibility of the process is hurt with these long delays and the uncertainty about the future.'' ***

So... where are the Chinese headed to next? Venezuela?

No - I believe they are well settled in South America and Mexico. They already have facilities at both ends of the Panama Canal, Port of Los Angeles, Long Beach, CA and also on the East Coast.

There are a lot more but there isn't enough time to list them all. Watch out for COSCO - China Ocean Shipping Co which is half owned by the Chinese military.
