"Twenty years ago, Heinz Kerry says she became pregnant, and, upon learning she was carrying a fetus that would be born severely deformed, made an appointment to end the pregnancy," People magazine reports in its upcoming May 10 issue.

Cheaper by the dozen. I don't know what method my parents used. I just tease them by saying that they stopped at 11 because my brother and me were the best looking (#10).

I don't know if this is understandable, but having a medically challanged child can be heartbreaking and at the very same time be one of the greatest blessings that a parent can receive.

The dime was not allowed to fall away. Worked. FOFL
I remember my mom telling be about how her mother told her to use the rhythm method and it didn't work - she had 7 children
I laughed and told her it works if one really tries it and then asked her why she would take advice from her mother who had 10 children of her own
I had her laughing at that

...since abortion is a legal alternative and only affects the baby. They may think it only affects the baby. Thousands of women can tell you differently.

Time for the baby girl of the family to go to bed. Just remind your friends that not all big families in Massachusetts are the like the Kennedys. There really are conservatives living amongst the K-twins(Kerry/Kennedy).

If she was married to scary kerry, one could almost not blame her for wanting to abort. The truth of the matter is that terry kerry murdered her unborn child. She should be denied the sacrament of Holy Communion.

An inspiring post, ohioWfan. And you and your husband raise them right - witness your son just back from serving in Iraq. We surely liked your songs at Nan's Party for the President yesterday. Your testimony on the Lord speaking through certain, attentive, receptive persons here on Earth is widely shared - and affirmed daily.

I'm 45, had an unexpected pregnancy at 41 and now am enjoying the sweetest little girl imaginable.

Plus, SOME women who start their families in their 40's, have had abortions, which (because of scarring from the procedure or infection) can mess up their ability to carry a baby to term.

And, to add to what you're saying, what if that "deformity" happens when the child is, say, six or seven? Maybe from falling out of a tree? then what?

Could it also be a weak attempt to appease the Catholic voting block- after all, she didn't abort....

then what?
I worry that before it is over we will be reduced to a nation that actually condones killing anyone who is deformed, mentally, or physically.
The Bible says they will call evil good, and good evil.

Sorry to have traumatized you with my expectations. People who can't measure up or do the right thing just can't. Not my problem.

".. the magazine says, in a story headlined "Teresa Unplugged."
I can't believe People was this insensitive.
Passing a mucus plug is a sign that the cervix
is dilating and the mother's body is starting to prepare for birth.
Really unbelievable.
