An unnamed source has told THE PATRIOT JOURNAL that the video of the beheading of US civilian contractor Nick Berg by his Al-Queda linked captors is brutal and nauseating. The video shows one of Berg s captors kicking him, shoving him to the ground to his left side. The video then shows a captor pull out a large knife and chop his head partially off. The captors then tug and pull until his head pops off. The captors then hold his head up to the camera as if it were a prop. His arteries can still be seen dangling from his head. THE PATRIOT JOURNAL has been told the entire video is very sickening and disgusting.

So true, both of y'all. Even with the info available, they still try to suppress or spin it. Effective too, since 90% of people are too busy watching "married with children" to be bothered to do their own reading and decision-making.

I can't tell ya how many times I've watched a day of hearings on c-span only to hear CNN (or in the old days, CBS et al) report such a twisted version of events it was barely recognizable.

In fact, it is what turned me to politics and ultimately, conservatism. I came down with the flu during the Iran Contra hearings, and was able to watch them all day (then bought a vcr and taped them).
Then I'd watch the "news" at night.
Stunned.
I wrote my first (only, actually) letter to CBS complaining about the egregious spinning Dan Rather did in his nightly reports. I was still in school, idealistic and clueless... thought I was a democrat like my dad. lol

Yep, ABCNNBCBS consistantly "cherry pick" the odd out of context phrase which suits their agenda to run on the nightly news.

It's sickening to think of Americans who form their opinions based on what slanted news snippets they catch while clicking from MTV to Queer Eye to Friends.

Shocking to think the average American is asleep at the switch. I fear we will have another 9-11, only worse. Then, the good people of this country who are outraged, shocked and in a rage over this murder and the other 4 Americans murdered a few weeks ago will be heard. To hell with the alphabet news. A pox on them. I want America to be angry, raged and ready for war. I want American to get off their comfy sofas watching the latest mindless reality show and watch this reality video of a murder of a young American civilian named Nick Berg. I want them to feel the horror and grief his parents especially his mother must be feeling right now. I want our spineless politicans to stop with the hand wringing over the stupid but admitted sorted prison fiasco in Iraq. It was not that big a deal. Stupid but not that big a deal. We are so screwed as a nation right now. The barbarians are at the gates and we are whistling in the dark. I am so angry right now, I could scream. I want some good old fashioned, John Wayne style ass kicking. I want it noisy. I want it fierce. I want it now!

About a week ago someone posted a link to a series of graphic videos, several of which depicted beheadings. I forced myself to watch those videos, but now rather wish I hadn't, even though, strangely enough, I think it was good that I did. For some reason I've spent my entire life thinking of "beheading" as a quick, simple, lopping off of the head. Not so these videos; the heads of the victims are slowly sawed off with a knife, while the victim writhes and gurgles.
At this juncture I don't really give a rat's ass about so-called "prisoner abuse" at the hands of U.S. forces. They can all go to flaming hell, so far as I'm concerned. And they can take Ted Kennedy and John Kerry with them.
