Saddams Own Torture Videos -- And Some Other Important Info On Saddam's Atrocities(warning-GRAPHIC)
Multiple | 5-16-04

Posted on 05/16/2004 8:23:25 AM PDT by jmstein7

When the "prisoner abuse" media-sponsored hit on the president broke, I remembered, in the back of my mind, having seen videos of what torture in was like under Saddam.  It figured, I though, that the mainstream media found pictures of U.S. MPs making Iraqis wear underwear on their heads was more gruesome than Saddam throwing prisoners, head first, off buildings.

Anyway, I just discovered that some new videos of Saddam's own brand of torture are going to be revealed.  These are supposed to be much worse than what we have already seen.  But, I figured I'd see if I could dig up the ones that have already surfaced, but that the media has suppressed.  If you have not already seen these, I highly suggest watching:

Click .  If you have trouble starting it with that link, go to the FNC page here and the video is there.  The link to the video is mid-way down the page, and the actual video starts after a short Fox promo.

For more info on Saddam's brand of torture, check out this story.

Also, I have put aside a declassified British Dossier on Saddam's torture methods.  It is quite grisly, and you can download it here.

I also found two of Uday's torture "home videos" floating around.  The files are a little large (~7megs), but you can get them here and here.

If it weren't such a serious matter, Kennedy's and Levin's mock outrage at our MPs would be laughable.

This posting should provide some much-needed perspective.

WE don't need defending...except against an extreme leftist, liberal, effing media...
and traitorous communists in our own government...
which are getting our soldiers and contractors, as well as Iraqis, killed, or haven't you noticed?

Is the guy whose fingers are being cut off wearing women's panties on his head as a blindfold? If so, the lopped off fingers are nothing compared to that outrage.

A ted kennedy type I should have said. You know, a drunk fatass with so much political clout and power that he can go out in front of the world and say anything. That is what I meant. I guess you can't mean what you say if you don't say what you mean.

You just don't get it do you? We all know Saddam was one of the most horrible creatures to ever exist. What he did to his own people was one of the primary justifications for taking him out.

But showing that his torture is worse than our torture is just plain ludicrous.

Saying we did bad, but Saddam did worse is a morally corrupt position. Two wrongs don't make a right and neither does one really wrong and one not-quite-as-bad wrong.

If your point is Saddam was a horrible person and we are glad he is gone I think only a few wackos would disagree. If the point is that American torture is better than Saddam's torture because it isn't as extreme then I think you are losing your moral perspective.

First off, Saddam was indeed a monster who delighted in the suffering and killing of others, and I certainly agree the excesses our troops engaged in was morally and ethically wrong. Happy?

But showing that his torture is worse than our torture is just plain ludicrous.

What a ridiculous statement. How does your 'moral' position allow you to equate dipping people still alive and concious into vats of acid to forcing someone to pose naked or stand on a box with fake electrodes attached to their hands?? The extremes our troops engaged in should be addressed and mechanisms put in place so that actions such as these do not happen again.

My previous post was intended to point out the vast difference between what Saddam did and what American troops did. If you could not understand my previous post, then maybe you don't get it.

Don't you understand that what I am trying to say is the very fact we have to compare ourselves to Saddam is the problem.

Actually I think you do understand. I object to people making the comparison in the level or degree of torture. This is irrelevant and purient. It just gives people a reason to watch and look at these real-life horror movies. And I fear that a lot of Freepers (and others) really enjoy it.

This drives me nuts because the real difference is that the Iraqi government under Saddam not just allowed or condoned such action, but actually made it part of policy. It was what was expected.

The US, on the other hand, has immediately put the perpetraitors on trial and has universally condemned their actions. This is the real point and I hate it hate it hate it when anyone tries to diminish the level of the crime these individuals committed, by saying "well Saddam was worse" as if there is any basis for comparison.

The point is and always will be that American soldiers don't do this type of thing. Not, "well Saddam was worse". By showing what Saddam did in reference to what Americans did, that is exactly what is happening and it is insulting and morally perverse.

Perhaps this helps to clarify my position.

I don't have any real problem with what you are trying to say here. Your points are valid. The justification you put forward, 'American soldiers don't do this type of thing', is an admirable goal, but one that is not very realistic in an imperfect world. U.S. soldiers have from time to time throughout our history engaged in behavior not becoming of the uniform. What makes us different is, as national policy, we strive to be as moral as possible during hostilities and seek justice for those we have harmed unnecessarily.

The behavior of the few who sully the honor of the United States military by abusing captives should never be excused and should be fully prosecuted, as is happening now.

All I'm saying is, there is nothing wrong with comparing one evil against another. In many ways, it serves to bring into focus the stark contrasts between a relatively civilized society and a brutal, barbaric one.

Here is a link to videos that CBS has provided:

Being on the bottom of a human pyramid would have been kids play compared to what's on these videos.
