Kimmitt says 4 detained, then 2 released, 2 being questioned.
No way! That would mean that there was a connection between Al Qaeda and Saddam and we all know that there is no connection.
</end sarcasm>
Rush has talked about how Giuliani draws an analogy between the terrorist network and the five Mob families that he fought in NY. Giuliani said that you cannot fight just one family because the other four would pick up their spoils and become stronger. You have to fight them all at the same time.
The MSM will not tell the truth because then, oh no, Bush would be right! Reminds me when Fonzie had trouble saying wrong.
I was wrrrrrr
I was wroooon

Two Held Over Berg Beheading in Iraq - U.S. Military
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - U.S.-led forces in Iraq are holding two people suspected of possible involvement in the kidnap and beheading of American Nicholas Berg earlier this month, the U.S. military said on Friday.
Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt, a spokesman for the forces, told a news conference four people had been detained in a raid in Baghdad two days ago and two had subsequently been released. Of the other two, he said: "We may find out that they have no association with the murder."
That's exactly the right analogy. The Mob.
I guess being a native New Yorker allows me to grasp the concept a little easier.
Agree Coop the first story was right.
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Iraqi police have arrested four people in the killing of American Nicholas Berg and believe a nephew of Saddam Hussein was involved in Bergs beheading, an Iraqi security official said Friday.
The suspects were former members of Saddam Husseins Fedayeen paramilitary organization, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. They were May 14 in a house in Salaheddin province, north of Baghdad. The province includes Tikrit, Saddams hometown.
The group that was involved in the killing of Berg was led by Yasser al-Sabawi, a nephew of Saddam Hussein, the security official said. He said American intelligence had asked Iraqi authorities to hand over the suspects, but they were still in Iraqi hands.
Al-Sabawi was not among those arrested, the Iraqi official said.
Who cares. Even if it is legit they'll have a trial with the NYT, LAE, Washington Dishrag, along with all the unwatched networks crying over a "fair trial" which will probably happen with the ultimate penalty being the killing of their wives or sisters as the penalties.
If they really have the bastards, a simple cutting off of their heads should be appropriate.
Hanging out in Falluja, maybe?
When was the tape made public last Thursday?
Iraq says it has arrested four men in beheading of Nicholas Berg
(Baghdad, Iraq-AP, July 5, 2004 5:48 AM) _ Iraq arrested in May four men accused of involvement in the beheading of American businessman Nicholas Berg, a government spokesman said Monday. The arrests had been previously announced, and it was not immediately clear why the government announced them again Monday.
Maj. Gen. Hussein Ali Kamal, the undersecretary at the Interior Ministry, told Iraqi radio Monday that four men had been arrested in the Berg case. The report was confirmed by Iraqi officials, who later clarified that the men had been arrested in May and the arrests were announced at the time.
The arrests were reported at the time by The Associated Press. The report said that two of the detained were later released, citing a U.S. military spokesman.
Berg, 26, was kidnapped in April and his decapitated body was found in Baghdad in May. An al-Qaida affiliated group claimed responsibility.
see above. reannounced, why?
Post 55 provides some curious information. I wonder what this is all about. Confusion in the Iraq government? Confusion at AP? Is something up???
Weird. I would guess we haven't heard the last about this reannouncement. I wonder if it will now be plugged into the public condemnation of Iran and Syria?
Now Nicholas Berg's father can hire their defense attorneys and argue that is was all President Bush's fault ...
Why would they reannounce this...I'm as stumped as everyone else.
