Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton and Republican Lindsey Graham agree the U.S. needs a larger military.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A unlikely pair of Senate allies called for a larger military Sunday and pledged a thorough investigation of abuse against Iraqi prisoners in Baghdad.

Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-New York, and Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, are both members of the Senate's Armed Services Committee.

"A number of us have been sounding this alarm. We have to face the fact we need a larger active-duty military," Clinton told the television show "Fox News Sunday."

"We cannot continue to stretch our troops, both active-duty, Guard and Reserve, to the breaking point, which is what we're doing now."

Graham said the United States is "putting too much pressure on the men and women in uniform."

"We need more of them, sooner rather than later," he said.

The Dems are salivating over pushing the "draft" into the election.

I wish they would. I'd love to see them publicly pushing the draft while the President calmy stating there's no reason for it.

The democrat party wants the U.S. military for one thing and one thing only:

To serve as shock troops for a United Nations grab at world domination.

As noted in earlier posts, Bill and Hill cut our ground troops by almost half to "balance the budget." How Hill and Bill think we need more forces. Where is the outrage about how they jeopardize national security? Where is the press, asking Hill to answer tough questions? Oh yeah, right, what was I THINKING?

SURE.

Now she wants more gestapo goons to do her world gov bidding--from her perspective.

Maybe we'd have enough patriotic soldiers left to train her very well in a hands on class of . . . uhhhhh

walking the plank . . .

or

convincing her that being keel hauled would be a great way for her to gain more power.

tee hee.

Take it to the British press, just in case they haven't seen it already. Spread it across EU.

I find it interesting that you signed up 2 days ago, and need to qualify your opinion with the "long-time conservative" line. BS light on.

Considering SHE is personally responsible for the reduction and deplorable incompetence of the clintonista leftover quota military personel she has a few brass ones.

Too bad the media has had their testicles put in hitlaries lock box. (the fox was neutered today.)

I believe you are on to something! Sounds just like the press and the Dems in 1994 saying the Repubs might win one or two house seats at the most--didn't they win 54?

If this new Freeper is truly a longtime conservative, he/she needs to get off the media bandwagon. Incidentally, who wrote "Plan of Attack"?

NOws we know why Lindsay the Buffoon has been making ridicullous noises about getting all those higher ups in the military who were supposedly giving orders to abuse prisoners...This guy has turned into a loose cannon of the worst sort. When will Republicans figure out that the dems are not their friends and have no kind feelings towards the right?

And also note these guys are trying to make the argument for a DRAFT...knowing full well that the US will never go to war if there is a drafted army...Come on folks listen to the subtext it is important

Incidentally, who wrote "Plan of Attack"?

Some guy who can't keep his stories straight- the stories he tells orally in interviews differ from those he tells in his book. Which is to be expected since most books are written by ghost writers.

So you think a draft would be a good idea??? And you call yourself a conservative? strange...Plan of Attack was a load of fantasy....And obviously you don't like our current Veep or Defense department...that also makes me think you are something less than you claim

I'm doing just that, through a small publication that some of the people in government over there read.

They shouldn't be afraid of US Republicans. They should fear the fears and tardy, instinctive overreactions of US Democrats very much, though.
