Yeah, like a Nazi.
Cosby was absolutely right and I've heard no evidence of backtracking on his part; quite the contrary.

There were no toilets in the Huxtable home I'm pretty sure. I remember the episode where Rudy's goldfish died. They flushed it down the toilet. But then again, every sitcom had that happen, so I could be confused.

There's a thought.

when Cosby ventured down to Washington and ripped into the have-nots among us...
The comedian launched into a relentless attack on poor and working-class African Americans... Actually Ta-Nehisi (Geshundeit!), he lampooned socially irresponsible people who won't ever bother to try to improve themselves. While it is true that he went after those within his own ethnic group, his speech could have easily have been directed at certain area of Appalachia with only minor modifications.

Sorry, dead, on this one Cosby is more right than wrong. This article isn't a rant on racism. It's a dig on Cosby.
Ta-Nehisi said it, "But if we could just pay attention in school, stop stealing, learn proper English, and correctly apply deodorant, we'd be all right."
The first and third points are crucial. The last point may not be crucial but have you ever landed a job smelling like you haven't had a bath for four days? The second point pretty much goes away when the others have been met.

But over the past couple of decades, he's played one ugly role that his activist friends like to ignorepatron saint of black elitists. So speaking proper english is "elitist?" Coz is right and Ta-Nehisi Coates is exactly the 'knucklehead' he was talking about.

At last year's Emmys, Wanda Sykes asked Cosby what accounted for his success and that of other early black comics. Cosby, clearly annoyed with the demonstrative Sykes, fixed her with an ice-grill and said, "We spoke English." I like Wanda, but the Cos is right on target. Anyone - black, white, brown, whatever - who refuses to speak and write properly (apart from pro athletes and rappers, of course) - has a very slim chance of success in this world. It's really not so hard to learn and apply proper English.

patron saint of black elitists. Is a "black elitist" anyone who happens to be black AND dresses like a human being, rather than a gangsta? I've seen many a white kid dressed like some kind of parody of a Crip or Blood. I never had any respect for them. In fact, they look silly. I guess I'm a white elitist snob.

Pretty sad. A successful black man is called an elitist because he prescribes fundamental tools for success. Truth hurts, doesn't it Ta-Nehisi?
