To me this is either preaching to the choir or he's afraid to stand up in front of hostile crowd or even a neutral crowd.

If Dubya had gone to the NAACP the right fringe would be writing about what a dumb move that was. Do you really respect a man who picks an angry mob as his back up? All I can say is WOW, I guess you'd rather be right than win. I'm just glad your on the 'rat team and not on my team. Go Dubya!

In this country, there are so many, particularly the elderly, that still believe that whatever is shown on network news is the gospel truth.

Unfortunately, this all too true. I have yet to convince my anti-Bush daughter that the mainstream is biased. She simply replies, "What...and Fox News isn't biased?"

Too bad that there are so many people who still don't have the option of watching Fox News to at least get some semblance of balanced reporting.

Rush did not escalate this rant. It generated press coverage on its own accord. Also, other talk show hosts weighed in. This is Gore's "Dean-scream" moment. No single sound-bite but still the rantings of a crazed man.

In all fairness, Bill Clinton was pushed to this dynamic and I even personally witnessed (the only time I saw him) former President Bush pushed to hysterics on the eve of the 1992 election.

I am not worried. In the past 2 weeks I have had leftists (who don't know I am a conservative) confess to me that they think the party has gone nutso. Over the edge. They don't want to be lemmings jumping over the cliff (or in Disney's version, thrown over the cliff).

I don't know a good source to point her to but there has to be a concise account of recent events that show where the media has outright lied.

I am not talking about "bending the truth". We know that USA Today, the LA Times, the New York Times, The Boston Globe, and the Daily Mirror have all printed completely fabricated news items. Not "stretched". Outright lies. Written at the home office. Make up the quotes. Make up the names. Make up the facts. Make up the event.

The Globe and the Daily Mirror ran false photos. The LA Times made a photo composite.

These are ALL separate forgeries.

And there is "bias" at FOX? What is this then?

The place for the forum doesn't matter. I say lets hold it on NPR since taxpayers already pay for it.

I think we should still have a lot of say as to who the panelist of questioners are.

Could we get Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Michael Reagan...? Why does can it only be talking heads from the alphabet networks (ABCBSNBCNN...)

I had a liberal girl in 2002 confess to me that she was glad Al Gore was not President. She was sooooo glad to get out of her circle of liberal friends and be able to tell what was on her heart.

I believe that if Gore had been President, we would have launched missiles some place within a week just to show he wasn't a wimp/dove. Not that it would have accomplished anything positive.

I've also run into young conservatives who are hesitant to speak out about their politics (and I hold back in public myself at times). I try to send them here so that they may at least find some people in their area who are conservative and don't at all resemble the media's stereotype.

"Hey, anybody out there think the Bush administration will finally take the gloves off and fight these pieces of crap?"

That's what angers me the most about this administration. They just do not expose these morons for what they are. Why cant the Bush admin come up with responses like Rush does? I'm a very disappointed supporter!

I though that was the mantra of the Bush admin.

Listen bush-bot. Why is it with you mind-numbed robots that those of us who are disappointed with the bush admin. have to be called names. I guess there truly is no dissent allowed in the Bush era.

PHOOEY on having any questioners!

Questioners get "positioned" above the candidates, which means they talk down to the future president of the United States. Equalize the time between the two candidates by use of a chess timer arrangement by which the two participants control whose mike is live. No moderator, and no questioners.

Just the candidates with whatever resources they choose to deploy, which could include a computer giving access to the web and hence to any help they choose to use. Which could include precanned audio minispeeches on particular topics such as "why service in Vietnam is/is not relevant to this election."

"I am not worried. "

I agree... but I do suspect the liberal media will reach basically the same conclusions and hide the worst of them from sight.

It might be that the media will actually wind up running the Democrat campaign by selectively showing or withholding clips, injecting the "right" ones into the news at different times slots which reach different audiences.
It's a danger that I have not heard anyone mention before.

I called you no names. You called me "bush-bot" and "mind-numbed robot". I know you can't think , I guess you can't read either. Look up the word hypocrite.

The fact is I hit a nerve with the TRUTH and you can't handle it. You would rather be right than win.

No names??????

You would rather be right than win.

If winning means compromising all of the my previously stated values then, yes, I would.

your on the 'rat team

That is not name calling that is pointing out that you work for the bad guys...the 'rats. You are their friend because you attack Republicans.

If winning means compromising all of the my previously stated values then, yes, I would.

Voting for Dubya is "compromising all of the my previously stated values." That is exactly what the 'rats think too.

...your on the 'rat team...

It's okay for you to attack me because you think that I work for the rat team. But, if I call you a Bush-bot for supporting Bush, even though he's compromised many conservative values (Increased federal spending, encouraging illegal immigration, NOT standing up for his judicial appointees, etc.) Can I quote someone here? "Look up the word hypocrite."

That is not name calling that is pointing out that you work for the bad guys...the 'rats. You are their friend because you attack Republicans.

I didn't attack anyone. YOU attacked me. I was expressing my disappointment with Bush's administration.

Voting for Dubya is "compromising all of the my previously stated values."

Dubya is the one compromising his previously stated values. He's not, in any way, (except for a minor tax break) espousing conservative values. If you agree with his domestic policies then you are not a conservative, either.

If being a republican means supporting Bush and his policies, then I am probably not a republican any more. I am an independant conservative. Like I told someone else: I guess there really is no dissent allowed in the Bush administration.

I would not ever vote for any of the lunatic democrats. But, I am very disappointed with Bush. If that means, to you, that I am a 'rat. Then you are the closed-minded one who blindly follows and allows no dissent. I don't want to be like you. Good day, Sir.

Dubya is the one compromising his previously stated values.

If you can name one issue, excluding campaign finance reform (I can give good reasons for his change of heart for this issue,) where Dubya has compromised on his campaign promises I will admit you are right.

From education reform to medicare reform to tax-cuts Dubya has supported and often delivered on his promises. Perhaps you did not listen to Dubya's campaign promises.

Dubya has fought for his judicial nominee's, but you seem to think he can wave a magic wand and confirm them regardless of what the Constitution says. We are at war and just coming out of a recession. Dubya said he would support increased federal spending in times of war or recession during the 2000 campaign. I am unaware of any statement Dubya made about immigration during the 2000 presidential elections, but you KNOW he has compromised on this issue so please give me a quote or a web-link to prove your assertions.

If being a (R)epublican means supporting Bush and his policies, then I am probably not a (R)epublican any more.

From right to life, to tax-cuts, to defense Dubya is more conservative than Reagan. I believe you were never a Republican. I believe you are a malcontent agitator fighting for the 'rats. I believe you are so dumb you do not know which side you fight for.

I would not ever vote for any of the lunatic democrats.

Until this sentence I have not seen you write anything bad about the 'rats. You only have scorn for Republicans.

...you are the closed-minded...blindly follows...allows no dissent.

I have allowed you to assert your stupidity. I can't stop you from making a fool of yourself. This is still a free country unless people like you get their way. Yes I think you are wrong. Yes, I believe I have a right to prove you are wrong. What is the problem with that? I don't understand your complaint. If a mentally deficient Freeper posts slander why should I keep quite? You have the right to prove you are dumb. What have I posted that is contrary to this statement?

I don't want to be like you. Good day, Sir.

You are nothing like me. FOAD...Cur.

I just checked out your homepage. I now know why you are so insulting. You believe in a cartoon character and live in Wisconsin. That explains your lack of class and character. Go eat some cheese and such your harley tailpipe, eh?

I don't believe in a cartoon character and we all have to live someplace.

I will eat some cheese thank you. Suck is spelled s-u-c-k.

I have refuted everything you wrote. You have ignored your failings and are now reduced to fling feces like a monkey. You have lost this argument.
