(2004-05-28) -- Former Vice President Al Gore, who has become a gracious, respected statesman since George Bush usurped his presidency in 2000, today said he has offered the Bush administration a "sensible proposal to bring peace with dignity to Iraq."
In the dignified manner that has become the hallmark of his public utterances, Mr. Gore urged all Americans to "rally behind the president's efforts to bring freedom and democracy to Iraq."
"We never want to say anything that would cause our enemies to question our resolve," said the itinerant professor. "I have quietly offered my ideas to the president, confidentially through the appropriate channels, and I trust that they will receive serious consideration."
Mr. Gore urged his Democrat colleagues in the Congress and elsewhere to "avoid the temptation to self-aggrandizement or political advantage through brash public criticism of this administration. We are, first of all, Americans. E pluribus unum."
Everything that's up should be down, and everything that's down should be up ..... famous utterance from the Goron.
The irony of it is amazing. 20 or 30 years ago, this is what would have been said. Today, the hyper-charged, Bush-hating liberals cannot imagine supporting our president while he tries to defeat al Qaeda. This are the same bozos that attacked any critics of Clinton for breaking the law as "partisans." Amazing.
Al Bore, according to this article, is trying to undo the damage his strange compatriot, war hero, and fellow Democrat is doing to the psychic of the American public.
I'm starting to cringe at the mention of "sensible solution" as much as I do when I here "synergistic alliance" at work. Both seem to lead to getting handed the dirty end of a turd poking stick.
My favorite setup from the lying Dems (redundant) is "The fact is..." always followed by some outrageous LIE.
In my twisted little world.... All politicians would be required to wear a variation of the "Running Man" collar. If they tell a lie, their head explodes.
Interesting... a post where Gore being dignified, non-partisan, and acting in the best interest of our country, which makes it obvious that the whole thing tongue-in-cheek. I would love to see Gore or Clinton or Kerry or McAwful to act with some dignity, but I don't see it happening. Ever.
That collar should have a remote control detonator. Jim Rob would get to raffle them off on the forum, with the proceeds going toward costs. (I wonder what Hillary's collar would sell for????)
He offered the President his ideas "confidentially"...so confidentially in fact, that the President never heard a thing.
