President Bush Gives "Rummy" a Standing Ovation!!
The FOX News Channel | 5/31/04 | GeorgeW23225

What a great "spontaneous" moment!! I hope you all got to see the ovation Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld got today at the ampitheater of Arlington National Cemetary.

When his name was announced, the crowd went abolutely wild!! The screamed, cheered, whistled, & stomped their feet. The look on Rummy's face was priceless, but.....the BEST part was when the President stood and gave Rummy a standing ovation. The crowd went NUTS!! And so did I. I found myself standing in front of the T.V. applauding, and giving Rummy a standing "O" along with the President. It was a great moment, and it touched Rummy deeply. If y'all missed the moment, I'm sure FOX will replay it!!

Secretary Rumsfeld is great, such an asset to this administration. Calls from the left for his resignation are so pathetically misguided that it's clear they have no concept of a strong, civilian military leader.

Wow! What a great boost for a great man. I'm grateful that President Bush reaffirmed his support for him in such a meaningful, public manner.

He sounded as if he was a bit flustered by the ovation when he started speaking.

You can certainly see how increasingly out of touch the media and the dems are with the public.

Look at that ranting loon, Gore (a man I used to have some sympthy and respect for) calling for the president to fire almost his entire administration, 6 months before the election. If the people don't like Bush, or the people he has working for him, in a very short time they'll be able to send that message loud and clear. I guess Al knows just how unlikely that is to happen, so he's trying to get his licks in now.

When you have Jesus on your side, you don't have to sweat polls, and you can readily support your friends who have done so well. God love both of them.

No, I think the point is they DO know what a "strong, civilian military leader" he is. He's too good for their liking and helps the President.

OK, With Rumsfeld receiving standing O's it is clearly time for him to step down. </sarcasm>

Isn't it great? That is what true freedom is all about.

We cheer for that marvelous no non-sense, honorable American each and every day. Respect for someone that truly deserves it is not often seen; President Bush once again, did the right thing! Lord love ‘em both and keep them safe and strong – we need men like these two!

"Why?"

Mostly because I always liked Tipper. Now I just feel sorry for her.

I was at the West Point graduation on Saturday when he received a similar reception as he walked on the field, and then again later when he stood up to speak. And yet a third time when he finished his address to the cadets and to all of us!

It was a great moment, wasn't it???

Here's my theory..........

We have been putting up with so much being dumped, and dumped, and dumped on us ( I believe the football term is "piling on") that when given the opportunity, the crowd just exploded with emotion. I hope this is a trend, and that we see more spontaneous "explosions" of emotion in the days, weeks, and months to come!! It's about time!!

A commentator I was listening to at the time, said he rarely ever saw Rummy get so emotional. It really was a great moment, and SO well deserved!!
And BRAVO to the President for leading the standing "O"!!
