U.S. employers added 248,000 workers to payrolls in May, more than forecast, helped by the biggest gain in manufacturing employment in almost six years. The economy has now recouped all the jobs lost since the recession ended in November 2001. The unemployment rate held at 5.6 percent.

It's all Bush's fault. LOL
Well, the 3 million or so jobs the White House predicted at the beginning of the year, doesn't seem so far-fetched now.
Yes but has anyone mentioned that John Kerry served in Vietnam?
Among blacks, the unemployment rate rose to 9.9 percent from 9.7 percent in April. The jobless rate for Hispanics decreased to 7 percent from 7.2 percent and for whites rose to 5 percent from 4.9 percent.
For teenagers, unemployment rose to 17.2 percent last month from 16.9 percent. The jobless rate for women fell to 4.8 percent from 5 percent. The jobless rate for men increased to 5.2 percent from 5 percent.
Kerry supporters reading this will remark.
Black unemployment and Teenage unemployment is sky rocketing under Bush. The economy is tanking because of the deficit. We need to repeal the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.
Since a good liberal can only see ugly where there is nothing but positive, they will cull the following news and spin it to their constituents: "Among blacks, the unemployment rate rose to 9.9 percent from 9.7 percent in April."
I can hear the wide-eyed Pelosi already: "This administration continues to squander it's opportunity to reach out to the disadvantaged, poor, and the minority of this nation, instead opting for tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,"
Wonder which one of lame-streamers will be first to so state? Or have they already?
Does anyone have a link or know where I can find information as to the total workforce in America when clinton left and the number of people working today?
I believe 138mil were employed when clinton left. Links would be really helpful.
It's the economy, stupid...
www.bls.gov
thanks, I'm on the site now and it is like trying to figure out chineese handwriting!
Shhhh... nobody tell Willie Green.
The BLS has tons of labor statistics -- really user freindly. The doom'n'gloomers try to keep it secret, or they call it "smoke and mirrors", but the fact is that there are more people are working than ever and their making more money than ever.
