it is sad. i tear up when i see a flag at half staff.

i appreciated drudge starting out with god bless america.

to ronald reagan and ayn rand i owe my dropping out of the democrat party.

you have to wonder, how could i be so wrong for so long? answer: youth and going to university.

It is time for Rush to write another book. Especially now.

...you can tell how great a man is by his enemies.

In this day of self indulgence and free use of anyone and anything to serve one's own needs or ambition I am getting a "Pepcid" feeling in my gut.A Maalox moment is coming on.

If you will, cast your minds back to the days shortly after 9-11 and recall President Bush speaking at the National Cathedral. He was speaking to heal and to balm the national wounds.I remember being troubled by the adoring Media which could NOT keep its' cameras on Mr. Bush but instead lingered, fawning over Bill Clinton who just HAD to be present. I recall after the ceremony how Clinton stood outside in the center of the wide stone steps, so all who exited would have to march past in grief,Bubba the consoler, soaking up the attention like a sponge, ever needing to be the focal point.

President Reagan will be used by many as he lies in State. They will come before the presence of greatness, eager to be seen and held in the gravity of such a man,in the comet's tail as it were....

I urge you all to stock up on stomach remedies in the meantime ,and come let us devine together, who shall be the Grandest Media Whore of All?.

Maybe all Presidents should have ranches they work on.

Or simply be willing to work.

Hillary Clinton and John Kerry are both positioning themselves for this honor.

"My son finishes his freshman year of high school tomorrow. I am sending him this as required reading for the beginning of summer vacation."

My son just graduated from high school this year. Of course, he is at Ocean City, MD, frolicking with his class and what ever they do.

But I have printed this out and will be REQUIRED reading to get any more money. Ya know, they really don't give a ....... at this age.

Heck, who was president when you were in High School? Made you think, didn't it.

Exactly. I disagree with his reading of the New Deal but let that pass. Rush's point and one that's valid for as long as America exists, is that President Reagan did the right things for the right reasons. That's our 40th President's lasting legacy.

I printed it out to read tonight.

I first "discovered" RR when I got used to listening to his daily radio addresses, after moving to Ca. in 1973. He made so much sense to me that he was instrumental in transforming me from a college-cultured liberal idealist into a self-reliant rugged individualist conservative, and I was greatly encouraged and energized with the advent of the '80's. For this fifty-year-old, it was the greatest leap from one decade of history to another.

We were fortunate to buy our first home in the beautiful Simi Valley in 1982, where we lived until 1988. We visited the Reagan Library when our middle son was in the 3rd grade ('93) which so impressed him that he spent the next year studying the Presidents and not only handwriting a brief biography of each one, but drawing a portrait of each President using a book from the library as a guide!

A visit to Cal. is not complete without a visit to this wonderful and inspiring place. It is truly heartwarming for us to know that he will rest in peace here overlooking the beautiful Tierra Rejada valley.

As always Rush is right on. It was good to hear this today because it needed to be said because there will be plenty of lamestream media trying to dumb down America on President Reagan accomplishments.

Fox (maybe on Brit or John) did a side by side of many of the similarities of the two - chainsawing, etc.

Did not have to think. Reagan was president when I got out! I actually noticed on my own in those days how the press lambasted him no matter what he did, and it occurred to me that I liked him better than I trusted the press. Been a registered Republican ever since.

...smart wagering on those two.Where will Al Gore sit? Will Jesse attend? Will Bubba leave the service laughing, spot a camera and turn to tears in mid stride?....OH the choices....

Thank you so much for posting this. I normally listen to Rush for about 30 minutes during lunch then it's back to work. Today, I especially wanted to hear the full 3 hours of the broadcast but I just couldn't. I was hoping that someone would post it so I could read the rest of it.

Just like President Reagan has won a special place in heart, so has Rush and I wanted very much to listen to him today. Thank you again my fellow freeper.
