My Prayer for the viewing, mourning, honor of President Reagan
Self | June 8, 2004 | Jeff Head

Posted on 06/08/2004 7:32:00 AM PDT by Jeff Head

Regarding the growing wait to see the late President Reagan lying in state.

...I am overjoyed to see it. I wish I could be there. I woudl gladly wait 24 hours or more to be honored to see him lying in state. Myself and my family will be there in spirit.

I pray that the masses who desire to see him amaze everyone...that they are so numberless that they cannot be contained. I pray that they will wait as long as necessary and be glad and willing to do so, in California and in DC...white, black, yellow, brown and red.

I pray that it becomes such a phenomena that the press can't hide it, that they are at a complete loss of wors to explain it... that their socialist/liberal programs and voices are in fact left utterly speechless by it!

This is my prayer for this week of mourning and honor for the former President Ronald Reagan and his great all-American legacy...a legacy that will show him to be on of the top tow or three greatest presidents this nation had evr had, or that we have been blessed by God to see in office.

I have felt the power of God.

I believe God is working mightily at this time, as Ronald Reagan goes to be with him.

Concur 100%

I haven't been offended by the casual dress. These are common, ordinary Americans like me, many of them taking a day off of work even if they can't really afford to, sitting in their cars in line on the freeway for up to 3 hours, only to then stand outside in the summer heat for 7 or 8 hours. Although a service in a church calls for more formal attire, I think of Reagan in his jeans, boots, and hat out on his ranch, and I think that he would "get" all of the westerners in their regular street clothes. I understand your viewpoint that in our society, we dress up as a sign of respect and this is a time for that. However, the realities of what people are going through to be there and the fact that these are not dignitaries but regular folks makes me think that their clothes are not disrespectful. As so many friends and colleagues of Reagan have said, he would be so touched and honored by this response, jeans and all.

As long as they were well behaved (which they all are) he would welcome them, and be glad they were there.

Part of his charm, his virtue, his goodness was that he thought the best of everyone until you gae him a clear reason and cause (like the Soviets did) to think otherwise...then he acted decisively.

I agree completely. I am so glad that Nancy, Patti, Ron, Michael, and the grandkids are able to see this public proof of just how much the sacrifices they all made for the sake of this country mean to us.

This is living evidence of the silent, moral majority...and the liberals/leftists/marxists/gloablaists (all of whose agendas Reagan fought and previled against) are agaiast at the outpouring.

I am sure that they had hoped, that since President Reagan had been out of the public sight for so many years while his illness progressed, that we would have somehow forgotten...or that his brightness had paled. But they are wrong, we haven't forgotten, this country has not forgotten, the principles that he fought for and in so many ways epitomized have not paled...nor will they ever.

I pray that this outpouring will rekindle the "Reagan revolution" and that we will carry on as he would have were he able. After the mourning, the viewing, the celebrating of his life and achievements...that is the best way we can honor him and his legacy.

Hope you are getting to see this amazing and wonderful outpouring on behalf of this great man, President Reagan.

It truly lets us all know (including the liberals/leftists/socialists/marxists/globalists, to their chagrin) that the silent, moral majority is alive and well in America.

This thread is my prayer regarding the potential impact of that outpouring.

God bless.

I have been praying that the number will overwhelm the authorities until they have to tell the truth about the numbers (which are normally faked entirely on basis of pc).
Right now MSNBC is saying the wait is up to 10 hours and no one is leaving.
I wish they could ask people to go through two or three abreast in order to accommodate as many as possible.
My other prayer is that thousands will line the streets and highways in CA and in the DC Metro region to evidence the respect people have for that God given man.

Our thoughts and prayer are united and one.

As Delphinium said and quoted from James 5:16 "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

Good news.... Heard from a friend in line up at the college:

Freeway is backed up for MILES. It's now a FIVE hour wait to get off the freeway in BOTH directions. Traffic has blocked the 118 Ronald Reagan Freeway, the 23 Vets Memorial Freeway, all surface streets in Moorpark and West Simi, and it's a 10 and a half hour wait to get through the line to get on the bus and 2 hours to get into the library. I talked to a friend at the college and they estimate over 30000+ in line right now. 53 Buses are working around the clock.

Are they moving up the deadline for when people have to be in line to get through? The deadline to be in line was announced at 3:00, and it's only 10:30 in California now. With 3 hour freeway waits, then 10 hour parking lot waits, then a 2 hour wait at the library itself, they may not get to the back of the 3:00 line. They've already extended the viewing time by several hours, but they have to stay on schedule for Washington or risk cutting the time short there. I sincerely hope that everyone out there can go through, but I am also glad that the lines are this overwhelming. What a message from the American people (including the stereotypically liberal denizens of parts of California) are sending--messages about his legacy and messages of love, comfort, and gratitude for the family.

No word on any further extensions. I expect (or am hopeful) that the family may allow more time after the trip to Washington. Bottom line, if you aren't in line right now, you probably aren't going to get in. If Lurch shows up and demands special treatment, he may be lynched.

oh, I forgot... re: "stereotypically liberal denizens of parts of California"... that appears to be abating of late. They may be louder, but we're growing. And Ventura County has always been a republican stronghold.

This is just wonderful to see. They predicted 10000 visitors. Then they bumped it to 25000. They may hit 100,000 before the end of the day. Helicopters all over the place. Cars lined up for as far as the eye can see in any direction. The line, I can't even describe the line. Last night at 12:30AM they were doing the wave because the buses showed up. They are 4/5 abreast and it starts at the security point, snakes past administrative, science, arts buildings back and forth like Disneyland. Then down into the grass and into the back parking lot back and forth down into the bungelows. You get tired just walking to the back of the line. For an area whose people are pretty use to lines with Disneyland, Hollywood Oscars, etc., this is WAY beyond anything I've ever seen.

County has always been a republican stronghold.

I know that parts of California have long been more conservative, and obviously the people of the state have elected Republicans like Reagan for state office. However, in areas like LA and San Francisco, the general expectation is that people are more liberal. If that's changing, then good, if not, then it's up to the rest of California to keep producing and voting for candidates in the tradition of President Reagan.

President Reagan...even in dying...awakens the true feelings of Americans about their nation, their liberty and their values. It makes one weep to think about it.

I've been weeping for days. Can't help it. He made me proud to be an American, proud to be a part of the Reagan Revolution, proud to be a young person just starting out after graduating from college. Lo, all these many years later, I love him all the more. May he live on forever in our hearts and in the spirit of this great nation.

It's an answer to prayer. People will be lining up in DC now...and there will not be enough room or time to accomodate them all.

I pray millions will get in line and vote with their feet, their honor, their respect, their love and affection.

It is all well deserved.
