For once in my life I wish — oh how I wish — with my whole heart that words could pull out of me what I truly feel. As a woman, I want to thank you for being such a superb role model for girls and women everywhere as to what being a wife is really all about. As an American, I want to thank you deeply for doing what we, President Reagan's grass roots supporters, could not. We could vote for him, campaign for him, crusade for him. Only you could protect and support him personally throughout his public life. You shared him with us, and let him be the man of the people as he was born to become. Your grace, dignity, charm and humor matched his, and this particular American loves you for that.

Now, as you go through this last bit of the journey with your husband, please know that those of us who were his political foot soldiers walk every step of the way with you in deep sorrw and profound gratitude. But also with enormous pride at what we accomplished together by having the courage and foresight to follow President Ronald Wilson Reagan.

Mrs. Reagan,
This country -- this world has changed for the better because of our dear President Reagan. You were there, beside him, as it happened. May God bless the two of you.

Dearest Nancy;

I lost my mother to Alzheimer's in 1990 when hardly anyone even knew what it was. Because she lived with me, I know exactly what hell you've gone through, and how difficult it was for your beloved Ronnie. You are so brave, so strong, and you've been a faithful best friend to that marvelous man.

And now it's time for you to rest. Remember, he's free now, he's free to float and dance and most of all - to have his mind back! I honestly believe our loved ones can see us below as we struggle to make sense out of what's left of our lives. I hope you share my belief because it always gave me such a feeling of relief to be able to talk to mom (and my dad after he died). One night I got a bottle of wine, pulled a lawn chair well away from my house (which held my talkative family), and "talked" to my parents in private.

I also have a private rememberance of wonderful Ronald when he was a movie star. A good (male) friend spent several hours with your fabulous husband one night riding horses in Colorado (I believe). My friend was so impressed with this movie star who refused to participate in the drinking and partying at the lodge. He was also impressed with Mr. Reagan's love of the enviroment and his love of God and of pride in having an unblemished character. Their conversation lasted for hours.

I thought about telling the entire story here, but now that our hero is gone, I'd much rather hold it close to my heart, as if telling it to everyone would somehow diminish the memory.

May God richly bless you, dear lady. And know there are thousands - no - probably millions of us out here who share a part of your grief. You must be so proud that he chose you to love. So proud....

Now it's time for you to rest. Please do that for us?

I, too, wish I had just the right words to express my deep appreciation, respect, and love for Ronald and Nancy Reagan.

God has surely blessed this nation - he gave us this great President, and Nancy, to lead us through very troubed times. I'll be forever grateful to them.

May God bless and comfort the Reagan family as they lay President Reagan to rest.

Dear Mrs. Reagan,

This past week is truly a testament to your strength and a testament to the world of just how much you and Ronnie still mean to so many after all of these years. With every American of every political stripe, of every color, coming out to pay their respect to a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

You and Ronnie are truly an inspiration to many of us as well. May God Bless you Mrs. Reagan, and may God Bless your children and your grandchildren in this time of grief. I truly believe it when your beloved husband and one of my hero's said "There are brighter days ahead", there sure is. Thank you Mrs. Reagan, you and Ronnie are a shining example of all that is good in America.

Mrs.Reagan, as a child of 11, I didn't understand the significance of the handshake from a man running for the Governor of California.Only as I became an adult did I realize just what an honor I had bestowed on me.

Mrs.Reagan, I mourn the loss of your beloved husband with the rest of our country. He was a great man and I want to thank you for sharing him with us. Without your selflessness, this country would have missed out on the best President America has ever had.The sense of honor and decency your husband brought to the Presidency was such a welcomed blessing at a time when this nation needed it the most.We were shown that to be an American was one of the greatest gifts we could have.

Mrs Reagan, as you walk through this last journey with you husband, please know that you are not alone. That child of long ago remembers who was standing beside the man all those years and if I could be there to thank you in person ,I would. My love and prayers go with you during this sad time and may you find comfort in the love from a grateful nation.

I just heard a man named Bob Just on TV and I think he put it well.... "Reagan was like our father, a good parent, who always told us YOU CAN DO IT! Democrats are like a bad parent always telling us we can't do anything for ourselves." I see Ronald Reagan as a great father figure, a great leader, who told us we could do great things. He brought out the best in people. Thank you God for sending Ronald Reagan to US!!! Amen

I will try to be like you. I want to take care and love my husband as much as you loved and took care of your dear President Reagan. If I have half the courage and strenght you have shown through the years I will consider myself one happy woman. Thank you for all you have done, said and been in life. I salute you with tears in my eyes and joy in my heart for knowing you and President Reagan were here when America needed the both of you.

Dear Mrs. Reagan,

I was proud to serve in the U.S. Navy under the courageous and stalwart leadership of your husband. Ronald Reagan was responsible for returning the honor and dignity to the Armed Forces. Your husbands insistence on increasing military spending is responsible for saving many lives, and making our forces into the overwhelming power than finally caused our primary enemy into submission.

You Nancy, were a shining example of a loving, uncompromisingly supportive partner. Your relationship was a model of deep, honorable connection. All men are made stronger through a woman's love, and Ronald Reagan was strongest of all.

I was honored to serve under him, as his leadership, strength of character, love of country and commitment to our freedoms was a example for all to follow. We will miss him, but he is with us always. Together, you and President Reagan set the standard for what we all can be.

Mrs. Reagan,

I served under 5 different Commanders-in-Chief. Your Husband resurrected the Armed Forces that were laid waste by poor leadership and abandonment by the people of the United States of America. Under his able leadership, our self-respect was restored and along with it, our national pride.

Thank you, Mrs. Reagan for your steadfast support and love for President Reagan. I know I speak for most when I tell you that I have never served under a better man.

God Bless You and Yours,

Redleg Duke
