Now Even the French Hate the French

The frogs are in a stew over their "growing sense of France's decline," the International Herald Tribune reported today. Yes, "for the first time in a half century ... the notion of a rapid descent in France's influence is receiving wide acknowledgment within the French establishment." So-called intellectuals - we realize this term is a stretch in the land of the National Socialists' accomplices - are admitting "that French leadership, as it is constituted now, is not something Europe wants - or France merits," the newspaper revealed. Best-selling books, with such juicy and appropriate titles as "French Arrogance" and "France in Free Fall," have "focused discussion on the country's incapacities, rigidities and its role, they say, in the context of the Iraq war, in dividing the Western community and fracturing notions of Europe's potential unity." The books "are merciless in their accusations of the fantasy-driven ineffectualness of French foreign policy and the extent of the country's economic breakdown," said the Herald Tribune. "Together, they project the image of a decadent France, adrift from its brilliant past, incapable of inspiring allegiance or emulation and without a constructive, humanist plan for the future." Even the anti-American author Nicolas Baverez admitted, "Overtaken by the democratic vitality and technological advance of the United States, downgraded industrially and challenged commercially by China and Asia, the decline of France is accelerating at the same rhythm as the vast changes in the world." He said Paris must dump its "social statist model."

Isn't France the nation where the people took over and executed aristocrats by cutting off their heads?

Maybe that's why the French tend to side with Islamic tyrants.

What's funny is that their system is crumbling and they are trying to reform the system and the stupid citizens are standing in the way of it!

I guess they got used to the gov't doing their thinking for them as well as that PRODUCTIVE 35 hour work week! Nothing like a cradle-to-grave welfare system to dumb-down the frogs.

There latest control freak power grab: voting on banning SUV's! They don't dare leave it to their citizens to decide if they can afford less fuel efficient transportation. Soon, only the elites will have SUV's in France & most of Europe. The commoners will just have to keep eating their cake!

If not for France's permanent seat on the Security Council, it would be a country with ZERO influence, ZERO power, and ZERO reason to be given consideration on any matter. Their security council seat is their last vestige of power.

Let's remove THAT by writing and badgering our Reps/Sens to pass HR 1146, the bill to DITCH the UN like a disease-ridden whore. Get the USA and the then the UN Bldg out of the USA and relocate it in N'Djamena Chad, where Kofi "Silverback" Annan would feel at home!

Yeah the frogs - the welfare mooching crack whores of Europe. They hold out a militant fist against the US with one hand while holding out their palms for handouts with the other one.

Brilliant past? France had a brilliant past? Where? When? In the minds of fifty-million Frenchmen, perhaps. I can think of Napoleon and then, after that, France fell into a historical eddy that only grew more severe. Mon dieu! Quel domage, mes amis!

I concur. They are nothing but a pathetic group of survivors who have kissed the ASSES of conquerers ranging from Caesar's Legions to the goosestepping Nazis. Next, they'll all be wearing burkhas or trying to emigrate HERE when the Islamic hordes take over! Time to make it ILLEGAL for a frog to relocate to the USA. They made their bed, let them sleep in it!

The French simply aren't important enough for hate, other than in the sense of "I hate mosquitoes" or "Bush Sr. hates broccoli".

The real pity here is that they're the cultural (if that's the right word) center of the EU, which in practical terms means that they get to boss around a lot of smaller countries. That's likely to give them the sense of superiority they seem to need.
