Thanks for your cautionary note. Once or twice I've cringed at the details given about our military movements. Probably not anything the bad guys don't already know or care about...but just in case, practice good OPSEC.
Suspicious Package Closes Subway Stations (Brooklyn, NY)
By Joshua Robin Staff Writer June 22, 2004, 1:02 PM EDT Several Brooklyn subway stations were closed during this morning's rush as police investigated a suspicious package later determined to be harmless.
Authorities responded at 9:21 a.m. to a call of an unattended bag left at the Long Island Rail Road section of the Atlantic Avenue terminal. Initially, subways bypassed the station. But at 10:11, trains were redirected to avoid downtown Brooklyn entirely as the station was cleared.
Bomb Squad detectives opened the suitcase and determined that someone had left it behind. Normal subway service resumed at 10:39 a.m. It was not immediately clear whether L.I.R.R. trains were bypassed, according to rail road spokesman Brian Dolan. Link to Article

Suspicious Package Threatens Airport Safety (LAX)
By Lynne Hostein KTLA-TV Newswriter June 22, 2004, 7:42 AM PDT LOS ANGELES INTL. AIRPORT -- The suspect in a major scare at LAX is undergoing psychiatric evaluation. Witnesses saw the man sitting on a box Monday night in the Sepulveda tunnel that allows cars to travel under working runways.
Police immediately shut down traffice in both directions. The man apparently told officers that he'd tossed the suitcase into the tunnel. They found the bag near a gas line and called in the bomb squad.
The luggage turned out to contain clothing and CD's. The suspect was admitted for observation for 72 hours at an area hospital. Airport flights were not affected during the incident. Copyright © 2004, KTLA Link to Article

Suspicious Vehicle' Closes Y-12 Entrance (Oak Ridge Nuclear Weapons Plant)
SPOKESMAN: 'They didn't find anything and, after the search, the vehicle was cleared to proceed.'
By: Paul Parson | Oak Ridger Staff paul.parson@oakridger.com Armed guards blocked the main entrance to Oak Ridge's nuclear weapons plant around lunchtime Monday, causing traffic to back up in both directions on Scarboro Road.
Some motorists - mostly Y-12 National Security Complex workers - turned off their vehicles' engines while others hopped out of their cars to make cell phone calls.
The Bear Creek Road entrance closure occurred after one of the canines used by Wackenhut Services Inc. alerted security officers to a suspicious vehicle attempting to enter Y-12. The incident lasted "about an hour, maybe less," according to Y-12 spokesman Bill Willburn.
A security officer with Wackenhut Services Inc. blocks the Bear Creek Road entrance to the Y-12 National Security Complex after the road was closed briefly Monday due to a 'suspicious vehicle.' "They searched the vehicle, which belonged to a subcontractor employee. It was a pickup truck," Willburn said.
"They didn't find anything and, after the search, the vehicle was cleared to proceed." Willburn said he didn't know which subcontractor the truck driver worked for and what caused the vehicle to be "suspicious." However, officials have said in the past that the canines are trained to detect narcotics and explosives.
Traffic was significantly backed up around 1 p.m. when The Oak Ridger arrived at the scene. Vehicles began to enter the plant around 1:10 p.m. through a secondary entrance off of Scarboro Road, with the Bear Creek Road portal opening up minutes later.
The Oak Ridger left a message with Y-12's communications department that the newspaper was photographing the traffic situation from the plant's front lawn. However, that didn't prevent a Wackenhut security officer from approaching the newspaper representatives in a vehicle with lights flashing to question what was being photographed. The guard declined to answer any questions posed to him about the situation. Link to Article
These others, that's disturbing. I'm thinking that some but not all might be probes. To see how we'll react to a security threat. Timing is going to be critical, they'll want to see how fast the responses are, what units show up first, how armed or equipped, etc. That's what I'd be doing; pre-operational.
Glad to oblige....
Yep.
I'll fight ya for it :)
Care to go into it at all? I see IH is having a heavy server load right now.
BTW Oakridge is the one that had a fire about two months ago. AND this..........remember the Israeli movers?

Something very suspicious happened over the weekend that's not receiving much news coverage. Two Middle East men who led Tennessee police on a high speed chase in a rented Ryder truck are now being held without bond pending an investigation by the FBI.
It seems that the two Middle East men refused to stop while being chased for three miles by Tennessee police. Officers saw the men throw something from the truck while being pursued and later the officers found a vial containing an unknown substance along the roadway.
Once the men were apprehended, officers also found a "Learn to Fly" brochure in the truck leading officers and others to express concern about the security at the Nuclear Fuel services plant nearby. The two men also gave authorities a fake Florida driver's license and fake identification cards.

They were subsequently released as were all the other suspicious moving guys in Illinois, Washington State, New Mexico. Those are the ones we know of.
Oh dear! A beloved children's storybook character turns to a life of crime.
Ya wanna do rock, paper, scissors?
Or, race for it?
I'm closer though. :-)
"They cut of their heads with a knife, so when our forces arrested four Taliban, we cut off their heads too."
I had read the IH post earlier but can't get back into the forum due to heavy server load. It was a warning from EOM posted on Global Islamic Media. At least that's what I believe Chaos is referring to.
Hmm, EOM again. ;-)
Interesting.. I'll have to try to get on there later. I am a tad interested with this whole 23rd thing and of course the Iraqi sovereignty upcoming. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of the terror-antics for the week.
