Loudspeakers, I don't want.

But yes, they have a right to worship.

Thanks Quix, but it was only a minor aside. Things are a bit slow today, and I felt Labyrinthos deserved a response. While my post to him was not necessarily a reflection of my personal opinion, I felt he might be interested in the information. Nuclear power plants going down and high-voltage wires exploding do cause one to raise one's eyebrows, especially on this thread.

According to Drudge:

Tue Jun 22 2004 17:28:24 ET Washington, DC-- In a major Washington policy address this Thursday, former Vice President Al Gore will accuse the Bush Administration of intentionally misleading the American people by continuing to falsely claim a connection between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda. He will charge that Bush and Cheney have "institutionalized dishonesty as an essential element of their policy process." Gore will also urge the broadcast media to further resist Administration efforts to manipulate and intimidate them, to fearlessly report the fact that there is no Al Qaeda/Saddam collaborative relationship, as the 9/11 Commission staff report has concluded. Gore will also discuss the implications of the Administration's claim to be above the law in ordering the torture of suspects - and their claim that the Commander in Chief's power trumps all other laws. He will call for the Administration to reveal all orders given the military on the treatment of prisoners.

Developing... Must be true, he invented the Internet after all.

Here is another description of the peaceful religion which adds to their list of murder and mayhem.

That the Islamist terrorists feel little restraint was demonstrated in the two strikes they carried out last month. For 12 to 18 hours, the terrorists breezed past roadblocks and guard units in the kingdoms most sensitive oil centers - the Red Sea town of Yanbu on May 2 and the Gulf town of Khobar (adjacent to the key oil city of Dahran where National Guards special units protect the oil installations) on May 29. They were not challenged or stopped.

The killers had plenty of time to drag the bodies of Britons around the streets of the two cities. After taking hostages in Khobar, they cut the throats of nine foreign oil workers, including one American, after separating them from their Muslim captives. To this day, there has been no official count of the foreigners who lost their lives in this outrage.

Usama bin Ladens followers are getting away with far too much. The signature the Saudi cell appended to the photos of Paul Johnson was a way of gloating over US failure to bring to book the Iraqis and Al Qaeda terrorists who lynched four American security men in Fallujah on March 31 -- even though their handover was the condition for the US Marines pullback from the Sunni Triangle hotbed.

On FR, from Debka but all true.......

Scientists, Groups Repeat Demand for Protection of Nuclear Plants: 9/11
Panel Says Plants are Targets; Groups Say They Are Highly Vulnerable

WASHINGTON - June 22 - With the 9/11 commission and its witnesses divulging last Wednesday that additional air-based terrorist attacks have already been attempted, that more major attacks are likely in the near future, and that nuclear power plants are top al-Qaeda targets, scientists and watchdog groups from across the U.S. today repeated their demand that the Bush Administration immediately order measures to reduce the risk of a catastrophic radiation release at power plants.

The 9/11 commission staff reported Wednesday that “unidentified nuclear power plants” were among the ten targets originally planned for attack on Sept. 11. In startling testimony before the commission Wednesday, two CIA officials claimed the agency has thwarted several al-Qaeda attacks since Sept. 11, 2001, and one said, “I think we've probably prevented a few aviation attacks against both the East and West coasts.”

Groups from the Northeast to the West coast to the South today pointed to the latest revelations as validation of their years-long call for security upgrades, including hardening the storage of “spent” fuel rods. Added to Wednesday’s disclosures is the increasing consensus among independent technical experts that nuclear plants are poorly defended against various types of air attacks – including small planes loaded with explosives – and small, determined teams of ground level attackers.(SNIP)

The Stormville Airport guys are the hucksters that I was referring to. There have been virtually no credible sightings of the "V" shaped objects since the hoax was uncovered. I personally witnessed the formations on several occassions -- now that I think of it, they were also "U" shaped as well as "V" shaped formations -- and I could definately hear the hum of the engines, although the sound often blended in with other noise, which made it difficult to pinpoint particularly since the speed of sound is a lot slower than the speed of light. And while the formations did appear stationary or to hang at times, a physicist from one of the local colleges explained that it was an optical illusion caused by the slow moving aircraft flying in unison in a night sky. If you want more info on what I saw then please Freepmail me because I don't want to move the thread off topic.

Bulgaria fears nuclear scientists may go freelance
23 Jun 2004 15:23:25 GMT

VIENNA, June 23 (Reuters) - Bulgaria is worried its nuclear scientists may work for terrorists or rogue states when the country shuts down two nuclear power plants over the next few years, its foreign minister said on Wednesday.

Bulgaria has agreed to scrap the plants when it joins the European Union, which Sofia hopes will happen in 2007, leaving thousands of nuclear scientists without a job, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Passy said.(SNIP)

Pakistan's Long-Range Missile May Trigger Israeli Pre-Emptive Strike

Salt Lake Tribune

Late last month Pakistan's Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali watched a test-launch of the country's Ghauri missile, whose 930-mile range allows it to deliver nuclear warheads anywhere in India except Assam and the far south.

There was the usual communique saying that "The prime minister made it clear that Pakistan's edge over its adversaries will be maintained at all costs."

There are a couple of pages of follow-up posts on that posting that people were concerned about regarding June 23, that called for an "International Islamic Event" over the past couple of weeks, including one posted by the original poster, who apparantly is changing the date LOL.

I thought I'd post the last couple for everyone - I'm at work and don't have time to translate, so I'll post the Ajeeb.

Nothing Man: We want to destroy the terrorists. Plain and simple. I would not think you are against that.

Anyone who wants to kill us -- i.e., ALL terrorists -- we want to kill first. It is a matter of survival and protection.

N Korea ready to abandon nukes if U.S. scraps "hostile policy"

Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at 17:30 JST
BEIJING — North Korea's chief delegate to six-nation talks on the North Korean nuclear issue said Wednesday his country is ready to abandon its nuclear weapons programs if the United States takes action to scrap its "hostile" policy toward the North.

Kim Kye Gwan, North Korea's vice foreign minister, said in an opening address at the third round of six-way talks here that Pyongyang's freeze-for-aid proposal is the most constructive way to break the impasse over the nuclear standoff. (Kyodo News)

Calpernia,

Help, Gore needs my special jacket with the long long long
sleeves, how can you send it to him?

In truth, everything I read about Gore, makes me say a
prayer of thanks that he is not my President.
