Mickey Rooney is from the Hollywood that is all but dead and buried. That Hollywood produced men and women who believed in the inate goodness of this nation, and gave us the finest actors and actresses this world has ever seen.

Todays Hollywood is the one that the communists wanted. With very few exceptions, there isn't a thimbleful of talent among them.

I think I figured out a unifying theme throughout the entire week of ceremony. The Chaplain said it last night: "Ronald Reagan loved hymns."

The hymn Battle Hymn of the Republic was played at every ceremony. First, it was played as a dirge as his body was escorted down Constitution Avenue towards the Capitol. Then it was played in a more uplifting way at his service at the National Cathedral. Finally, it was played as a triumphant march at his service last night.

The respect for Reagan baffles the media. How I love that.

Me too. My son played Metallica's "Fade to Black", and the lyrics fit so well. He and my little one are so uneducated by public schools, that they didn't know who RR was, or what he achieved for the free world. He saw how emotional his oldest sister and I have been over his passing, and picked out that song. Pretty cool.

Public schools are deliberately indoctrinating kids, but despite that, the kids were out there paying their respects. Awesome!

My grandson's public school had a Memorial Service for Presdident Reagan, complete with Taps being played. COOL, huh?

The resiliancy of the kids to overcome pure propaganda is amazing. Thanks for the comments.

My daughter noticed that right off. I was a little puzzled by the comment, but thankful that it wasn't worse. He didn't show too much emotion, but a lot of men usually keep it inside. I hope Patti has changed her attitude.

The thing that struck me is the body language. Patti and Ron deliberately distanced themselves from Michael. You know, I think he's more like Ronnie than his biological children. His eulogy was just wonderful.

Isnt that strange? I watched parts of it. It's a real headshaker why they chose to play it.

Why invite a loose cannon to speak then? I have to say that I was braced for the worst from those two. Thank God, it wasn't worse.

What is not funny is that neither one of those two inherited any class or manners from their parents.

God in His providence put Ronald Reagan in the Presidency at precisely the right moment of history. And, I have a sense that He took Ronald Reagan home at precisely the right moment of history, to remind this nation, or to introduce a new generation of young Americans, the importance of great leadership, and the importance of conviction.

Well said! Everywhere we went in DC this week, and everything I watched on TV, I was surprised (but pleased) that so many children were involved. I'm hoping that means we've created another generagion to "Reaganites" because we sure need 'em! TNT

General Jack who sheparded, guided, comforted, and talked Mrs. Reagan through the week, should get another star for the way he, his aide, and his Command performed. Magnificent!

I second that e-motion!

I had the same thought. I believe the past week of events (planned out long ago) is Ronald Reagan's parting gift to our nation. The overwhelming response of love and gratitude shown can only inspire the young for the future.

I watched, for comparison purposes, a bit last night; did you notice how the sailor dropped his corner of the coffin as they approached the set-down spot in the Rotunda?

Farewell Mr. President. You showed us how it is done

^^^

Your words brought a new thought of mine into words.
I'm sure others have thought it before me, but I haven't heard any pundit say it. We, who were adults, when he was in office and 'knew' him, have been waiting patiently since 1994, when he made his final good-bye to the public, to be in his presence again.

I think we were in his presence this week.

I was surprised when Ron even stepped aside so Michael could be next to Nancy for a few moments. Ron seemed really detached from everything.

I have to admit his comments went right over my head as I was waiting on a blantant attack. I guess I was so stunned by his ear lob story that nothing after that registered!

When I watched the ceremony over again, I heard what he had to say loud and clear.

I watched the LBJ Funeral too and I did not get the impression that Lady Bird was too much in mourning for most of the service. Her eyes were bright and sparkly.

Can that be true? "Front men out to get people to line the roads"

Wneh a leftie says something outrageous about conservatives, consider it a window into his mind. They put into words, thoughts of things they might do, or are already doing, and attribute the behavior to conservatives.

Jennings (or whoever) was probably thinking "I wonder how many people would show up for Clinton?"

I am really inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt even though he has made statements in the past. I just hate to go after someone who has lost his father to this horrible disease when he has been fed the line the stem cells from aborted fetus' would lead to a cure.

The articles recently have said that is not the case, but not sure what I would think if I was in his position. And he already starts on the left side of the agenda.

You are right! I only watch CNN during the first part of a breaking news story but when Wolfie shows up to take over, I change channels.
