It was extremely inappropriate for Ron to make that remark. A eulogy should never contain negative remarks.

Ron's a loose cannon, and it was to be expected he might say something controversial.

What's funny is to observe the hysteria over his remarks. When a screamer screams, why is anybody surprised?

You mean the same DNC HQ that when interns lowered the flag permanent staffers rushed out to raise it back up after Pres Reagan died?

That would be the same

Thank YOU for creating it. It's a treasure, just like the man himself.

Yep, caught the ballerina's highly inappropriate and disgusting display. Wasn't too surprised, though. Also not surprising was Koppel (on Nightline) replaying the clip as one of the highlights of the day.

"Also not surprising was Koppel (on Nightline) replaying the clip as one of the highlights of the day."

Of ALL things to promote as a "highlight"??

Oh that's right -- if it embarrasses President Ronald Reagan, it IS a "highlight."

The liberals were jumping for joy that the ballerina should be in such lovely form...

I was the exact same way. That ruined the service for me. Michael and Patti said some beautiful words and Ron Jr. started off fine, but went back to his typical hatred and involved HIS politics in it. What were his opinions regarding his father when he was in office? I seem to remember their being estrangement with him and Patti and their parents for some time. And who is Ron Jr. to talk about religion? He is disgraceful. He has betrayed his father's gracious memory with that vile commentary attempting to inject the uncivil politics of his and the liberal ideology.

does anyone know who that lone think blond woman with the large head and she patted her heart and smiled WAS?!

When people are slim, it can make it look like their heads are bigger. ;-> There are a few of those left in the country -- maybe half of them are in California.

I think the numbers reported for DC are screwy.

At one point, Fox News reported that they were going through at the rate of 5000/hr. and at another point when they'd changed the viewing to two concentric circles, said that 8000 were going through.

Forget the 100,000. Do the math - 5000 X 36 hours

OR 8000 X 36 hours.

That's a whole lot more than 100,000!!!!

Just a thought

See my post at the end of this thing - which I put up a few minutes ago - so I don't know the post #. Sorry.

But to repeat - it was estimate that between 5000 and 8000 were going through an hour, times 36 hours.

One of the things that started slowing down the procession was that fols started hanging around at 22 past the hour, or 52 past the hour, to wait for the changing of the Guard.

IF they had stopped that little manuever, the rates would have been ever higher. But when you have 200 people, blocking any others from coming in - well, the line stops dead. They started doing this about 11 AM Thursday - and unfortunately, it wasn't until about 10 hours later, when some experienced Marines came in the Rotunda, and started processing people through, whether it was change of Guard or not.

But for this, the numbers would have been even higher.

They also imporved the queueing - changing it from one circle to two concentric circles, but not having everyone make a complete circle.

After they did this, folks went through a half circle, then were to make a "U" turn, and go out the side door they had passed within the staunchions. This, too, sped up the viewing numbers.

I believe the 8000 per hours, as for grins and giggles, I counted the number in a 10 minute span of time, several times. One time I counted 1500 people, another 1600 people and another time (standing to watch the Changing of the Guard lowered the numbers) 1000. So you takes your pick!

And what they didn't tell you, beyond the 7 city blocks, is that by the reflecting pool in front of the Capitol, they had snake lines - you know, the things they have at Disney? I have no idea what they are called. Then at the right side of the Capitol, they had another series of these, about 10 in and around thingy's.

I heard it estimated that 16,000 people were left standing in line, unable to get in.

I unfortunately was not among them. I gave up after 5 hours. Just couldn't stand up, even on crutches, any longer.

If they'd had some provision for handicapped, I never heard of it. So, I had to leave. And that was at 4 AM. I never even got close the reflecting pool, which is in front of the Capitol. I was over on the corner of 3rd St - far, far away. Probably another couple of hours needed to get in!!!!

Oh, one more thing. Viewing was "supposed" to stay open until 10 AM. In face, they closed it to the outside line before 9 AM, and then only dignitaries and Nancy Reagan were allowed in.

Saw Ron Reagan as a commenator for the Dog Show today - another job he is not in the least qualified to hold! If he was not Ronald Reagan's son - he would not even be visible! I intend to turn off MSNBC every time they bring him! He is a small man without a heart; he is a sad legacy to Ronald Reagan who worked for what he got and had a heart has big as the California sky!

Aside from the apparent swipe at W, though, I thought Ronald P. Reagan's words very observant -- even very important.

As Presidents Lincoln and Reagan also reminded, there is a great, great difference between being called to be responsible to God, and thinking the call of God gives anyone a mandate of his own.

"For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another."

I'm sure that our beloved President George W. Bush humbly agrees.

Hello. Sorry you did not get in to see President Reagan in the Rotunda. I have been watching the replays of all the events on cspan today because of not being able to see most of them during the week (work interferes).

I just finished hearing President Bush's wonderful eulogy. I had tried to stay awake last night to watch it during the replay on at that time but fell asleep (ala the Clintons) during the very time he spoke.

How is it that America is deserving of such men? Such as Ronald Reagan and also such as President George W Bush?

That was one of the most wonderful "speeches" President GW Bush has delivered. Like Reagan, our President Bush is "misunderestimated" so greatly - and hated so deeply - by the leftist enslavers which both Presidents have fought so courageously.

My hope and prayer is that President Bush has taken further courage from the example of President Reagan's steadfastness in the face of terrible adversaries and ballistic critics.

Can we imagine what our nation's years would have been like under Algore? during 911 and this event of Reagan's death?

We are unworthy of such grace, Oh, God.

President Reagan was filmed at the 1992 Republican Convention - in which he said: "Electing a President is serious business."

Please, America - Americans.

This year's election is deadly serious business. May God grant our nation grace to endure, grace to work hard, grace to do what is necessary to prevent another 1992 disaster. God graced us with President Bush after those eight years of destruction. I don't know if God will give us another such chance.

I pray God will continue to shed His grace on this nation - far beyond what we deserve.

I dunno... Reagan Jr. has a pretty good wit and biting sense of humor in his own right.

When Mickey Rooney saluted, I completely lost my week long composure. Old Hollywood, so much CLASS, most are gone, few are left, most remaining have none.
