Welcome! I don't post much but I, too, feel like I'm with 'family' when I join the Dose. So many wonderful, caring people.
So I take it you're not fond of Morocco??? LOL. I was thinking of central Africa, where the elephants and zebras and lions are. No towns, just open spaces.
Your paranoia is well founded--they are out to get the Pres. along with any Christian Conservatives.
..Dubya escorted Nancy when she christened the USS Reagan..
When I saw W escort Nancy to her seat,I, too, thought of how he cared for her the day they christened the USS Reagan. I watched that on TV and he was so attentive to her that day. I'll bet she did feel secure with W at her side. God bless Nancy and our wonderful President.
.
***tomorrow he will be at the
White House for his portrait unveiling***
I can think of a LOT of responses to that but will refrain for tonight. :-) I hate to think of that slime's portrait hanging in the WH that he so defiled, among the pics of our wonderful leaders.
He's been gone for more than three years--why are they just putting it up now???
White House for his portrait unveiling***
What will be fun though is Clintoon sucking up the
air and press time from Kerry.
I respect him for his stand on the issue, but believe it or not, one of the Catholic priests in town (who married a couple who was living together after my dad wouldn't) said that my dad should "get with the times." >>>
Oh, I can believe it. I once attended a wedding where a rogue priest married a couple where the groom had NO annulment, this so-called priest "specialized" in this sort of thing and conducted these weddings frequently.
Oh, and contrary to popular belief, John Kerry NEVER showed his annulment decree and was married in a back yard which is contrary to the regular order of the Sacrament of Marriage.
What denomination is your father?
Thank you, 4integrity! Thank God for these wonderful people!
...plan to be at Capitol on Jan 20 for more joyous event...
I plan to be there too! Hope we can connect.
Well it is true about Ronnie you get the feeling something about my state that become Royal Shakepeare company of poltician let see Reagan then ARNOLD maybe he won't become Prez
What tell you about my State California
BTW I saw NY Times smack chat Cali drivers stop for Ronnie hearse HELLO Ronnie was our homeboy for good eight year in Sac-Town of course we stop traffic on 118 Freeway
We are California we are nutty as squirrels
Re your comment about seeing God in so much of the events last week.
I agree except for Ron and Patti's comments which were very little about faith. I listened to an audio clip of their eulogies and I remember their mentioning memories of their father, but very little about faith.
Michael's was so much better because he placed faith front and foremost on importance on this sad occasion.
Guys you are welcome to that sig line if you get bore with your current line
OKAY LOL!
It is true before he became Prez he is my homeboy remember he was in SO CAL Before became Top Agent in Sac-Town
....President spoke with Pope ..re moral issues....
My Mom watched Catholic Mass from church in Alabama and she told me the priest's entire talk was about politicians who support abortion and Catholics should not support these politicians. I was estatic! I've asked my Parish priest to talk to this issue but he began to talk about separation of church and state. I asked him..if we don't stand up for GOD, who will? But maybe the tide is turning...I plan to contact the priest in Alabama.....maybe he can encourage his fellow priests in Florida to show some courage.
Ping!
Here's the Dose for the last few days. Enjoy!
Someone please tell me how the jump by Poppy went. Did he make it okay?
Thanks for getting us all caught up, Gretchen. This last week had so much going on. It all went by so fast. Nancy Reagan gets major props for being such a strong person.
OMG, the music. I cannot tell you how it moved me. First you have the Battle Hymm of the Republic played in a slow funereal dirge, while the casket was carried up the steps of the Capitol, and then heard as an anthem of glory sung in the National Cathedral.
I'm going to be looking for a good recording of the weeks events, and after watching CSPAN's replay on Saturday, I'm sorry to say that they missed a lot of the very good hymms that were played at the burial site, while the motorcade made it's way through valley. I'm hoping that somebody else has a better copy.

My husband takes the same stand as your dad on marrying people. He also will not do it unless they have a Bible study first on what the Bible says about marriage.
As a result, not one couple has ever wanted him to marry them. They've always brought in another preacher from another nearby church to do it. Which my husband did not appreciate since he was trying to take a stand on something important.
