I started losing it during the bagpipes playing "Amazing Grace" and then continued during the whole rest of the burial.

When they interspersed the scenes of the sunset with the scenes of the burial (getting tearyeyed and goosebumps again just thinking about it!) I was thinking it was just how he would have wanted it.

AND also--from perhaps the most magnificant, formal cathedral in the world to one of the most beautiful places in nature I've ever seen, from sea to shining sea, in just a few hours.

And God was clearly very, very present in both places.

The one thing I noticed (and I refuse to call it coincidence!) was when Lady Thatcher paid her final respects to President Reagan, the sun set as she finished.

As I spoke with a lady yesterday while walking, I don't know how anyone can refute His Existance. That "moment" was not something anyone mortal could have timed.

I almost got my fill of Amazing Grace this week. No I didn't.

Such beautiful renditions too. That Irish tenor was fantastic and, of course, what could be more poignant than the bagpipes--just something about it.

I always gave instructions that someone had to find a bagpipe player to do Amazing Grace at my funeral (so people would be sure to cry--even those who knew me).

They did it for Spock, and for the man my daughter always called Uncle Ronnie, and I want it too.

^^^^

And people, especially Americans, who didn't understand what you just wrote, and thought there was 'too much' coverage, are really missing a part of their soul.
