SCOTT'S FISHY FURY
By HOWARD BREUER
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
June 15, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Scott Peterson hotly cursed and threw a flashlight after police grilled him about his suspicious fishing trip the day his pregnant wife, Laci, disappeared, one officer testified yesterday.
"I asked him what he was fishing for," Modesto Detective Matthew Spurlock told rapt jurors during the start of the third week of Peterson's murder trial.
"He had this blank look for a second or so, his eyes shifted a bit. And he didn't really answer the question.
"I asked what he was using for bait, and I got the same kind of response . . . this blank shifting," Spurlock said. "He couldn't really answer. Then he said, 'a silver lure,' and he held his hands about 7 to 8 inches apart."
Spurlock said that when he then asked Peterson to leave the house, he watched as the fertilizer salesman cursed through gritted teeth and threw a flashlight to the ground.
"It sounded like 'f - - -,' like it was being said out of frustration," the cop said............

REDWOOD CITY -- The judge in Scott Peterson's double-murder trial refused to declare a mistrial Monday over surprise testimony about Peterson's use of an obscenity shortly after his pregnant wife disappeared.
Superior Court Judge Alfred Delucchi gently chastised prosecutor Rick Distaso for pulling a fast one, but concluded that it was not a gross violation of trial procedure.
Also Monday, Sharon Rocha cried as she looked away from a large screen showing remains of her daughter, Laci Peterson. Minutes later, pictures of her smiling daughter splashed on the screen and Rocha quietly got up and exited the courtroom.
And two Modesto police officers said Scott Peterson seemed caught off-guard when first asked about his solo fishing trip.
Sparks flew after lead defense attorney Mark Geragos asked Delucchi for a mistrial, in a motion that drew snickers from the audience.........

I don't even get a herring first?
Stop!! Your killing me!! ROFLMAO!!!!
Thanks for all the pings. I haven't been around much and when I get here there are usually so many posts I can never begin to catch up. Maybe today will be different.
Never... I'm on a mission from Cod.
[Oh, yeah, Coho, Wall-eyed pike, and Muskie.]
No one is talking about the pants she had on when her body surfaced being identified by # by the company rep yesterday late..They had mock cuffs, not real cuffs(Amy said she didn't recall the pants Laci wore to the Salon having cuffs).... The illusion was created by stitching and they had shown Amy a picture at first...?
I am hopeful a link is established firmly that the pants are identical to the ones she had on at the Salon.
Geragos ,hammering away, made a big deal out of the color being "stone" instead of cream or tan until the Judge cut him off as the rep said it described a color of tan...
I read this on Websleuths ... a poster attended the trial yesterday. She said the prosecuter asked...were the pants black?..NO, the rep said and that ended that...She had a favorable opinion of the prosecution.
Unlike Scott.
Great one!
Unlike Scott.
Scotty thinks his legal team is good enough to get the case to tuna round to his favor.
Thanks for the update RB!
Thanks again, I really appreciate the threads!
Scotty needs to be put in his plaice before he incurs the wrasse of the betta sort . . .
I think he puts "Mr. Happy" first...strange how men let that lil fella ruin their lives...
"Snotty has a new love interest."
Strange but not surprising. Awhile back I said that we are probably going to see a series of obsessions with women. If this is true we can safely assume that the obsession with Amber is over.
Scotties' mother is there to "perch" over Geragos' shoulder to ensure Baby Boy's story is swallowed, hook, line and sinker.
"Men are all alike. Unzip their pants and their brains fall out."
I got nothing much out of "coverage" yesterday...The Websleuths site was where I got the best info.
I'm not following THAT closely, but isn't this at the heart of his defense? That he is such a philanderer, he would never have killed Laci just to be with Amber . . .
Some of phone calls with Amber will be interesting...My theory is that a baby would cramp his style and as Laci might divorce him over his philandering some day, he didn't want child support payments dogging him....Only Scottie knows for sure.
