That's what they get. Who in their right (or left) mind would ever pay that much for a book of fiction? *~*

NASCAR hit the jackpot after 9/11. You can still take your own beer but it must be in a 6x6x12 softside cooler. At 4 bucks for a 12 oz beer the crowd is pretty sober these days.

First offering on "Blue Light" special down at the K-Mart in Hog Back, Arkansas (the one down by the trailor park).

What a joke, "My Life" (as in all about ME, as in I, as in Bill Clinton, as in ME, which is what everything it's all about). What a piece of work this smelly piece of Farmer's cheese this guy is! The man is a whole surrounded by an ass.

I went into my local Barnes and Noble a couple of weeks ago and was taken aback by the sheer volume of "Bash-Bush" books that were in my face when I walked in the door. I walked through the swill and turned back toward the door when I was approached by a young man who asked me if I needed help.

I told him, "Judging by the books on display, it looks to me like you people hate the President."

He said, "That's the manager. She does that because she doesn't like him."

I said, "Tell her I went to Border's to buy a bunch of books and I won't be back."

I did and I won't.

And it won't be long after it comes out that some wize-guy (kinda like me) moves a couple of copies to the fiction section.

Yes, well, I believe there are a lot of anti Bush books coming out right now...I saw the same type of stack at my store. However, the Borders is pretty far away, and I do read a lot of books. Plus I order a lot from Amazon.

The reality is that Border's isn't much better. I was just pissed.

Actually, I was in the book store in the main concourse of the Charlotte airport this morning and noticed that someone had been in earlier and carefully turned all of the Michael Moore, Richard Clarke, and other such books around so the back covers faced the shopper. I laughed and thought to myself that person must be a Freeper.

I was at Book Expo in Chicago last week when Slickster gave the keynote speech to the book "intelligencia"... bookstore owners, librarians, publicists, publishers, authors, etc. I wouldn't have considered going across the street to hear the guy, but the book types were orgasmic over getting to hear him. I think I was the only Republican/Conservative at BEA. I've never heard so much hate speech, Bush-bashing, anti-Christian talk in any one place. For being the (self-proclaimed) "intelligencia", they sure are "stoopid"!

Ann Coulter has a new book coming out soon.

It's called "How to Talk To A Liberal"

I've never seen the country so polarized.
I live down in CenTex, heart of Bush Country, about 150 miles from Crawford.
I cannot stomach the idea of a Kerry presidency and most of people here feel the same.
Lots of us are thinking that if Bush loses it will be time to bring him back home then elect him the first president of the Second Republic of Texas.
Will be time to break the plate and go our own way.

You didn't call in to a talk show last week, did you?

If you didn't there was at least one other non-kneepadder at the show that had some similar things to say.

40% is standard. you go to Barnes and Noble it will be 30% off and then your frequent book card is another 10%

Um, $35 at 30% off less another 10% is not the same as a straight 40% off.
