"BRITISH actress Vanessa Redgrave, who campaigns for prisoners at the US detention centre in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, today denounced alleged torture at the jail and demanded the repatriation of the inmates.
Ms. Redgrave was speaking in the town of Venissieux, France, home to two of the prisoners held at the centre.
"The health and detention conditions at the Guantanamo base are a genuine reason for urgency," she said in French after meeting relatives of the detainees, Mourad Benchelalli and Nizar Sassi..."

Vanessa Redgrave lost her "marbles" a very, very long time ago. She's very anti-semitic and pro Palestinian for a very long time.
I remember when she was a ardent spokesperson for the PLO and Palestinians. She has been an old Lefite for a long time, but she hasn't let get in the way of a nice lifestyle.
Very good actress with unpalatable politics. I remember her Zionist protest speech when she won an Oscar--was it the 70's. This is not the week to complain to Americans about our treatment of terrorists.

Ms. Redgrave is an incredibly talented actress (I refuse to do the PC thing and call males and females "actors"!) Unfortunately, like most celebrities, her politics STINK.
