A "Cure" for Promiscuity ??

Shhhhhhh !!

Don't tell the National Organization for Women, but researchers at Emory University's National Primate Research Center have been doing genetics experiments on meadow voles (whatever they are),and have discovered that transferring a single gene - the vasopressin receptor- into the brain of a normally promiscuous vole will make the critter monogamous.

Consider the implications of that for a moment-then consider the implications of doing the same thing to humans !

How long do you think it will take before NOW makes such a gene transplant mandatory for men??

Does Bill Clinton count as human?

NOW has no authority to make anything mandatory.

I think this has already been done. God did this a long time ago, but man has followed other directions.

NOW's reaction is going to depend on whether the therapy works on lesbians.

Interesting, but with humans I think its a little more complex.Logic alone may tell you not to pass up a free lunch especially when its looks like such a nutritious and tasty free lunch and the special on it may run only for today.

Stupid scientists, what they should really be doing is trying to splice a gene onto a pack rat so it stops collecting trash and shiny metal objects. I'd volunteer my wife for testing on that one. LOL

NOW (National Organization of Women) has NEVER advocated monogamy. I rather suspect they will shortly demand an expansion of the research so the gene for monogamy can be REMOVED!

Remember, it's hard to tell the difference between a NOW member and your typical neighborhood hooker.

If monogamy is so good, why doesn't NOW support it already?

Oh, MAN!!! The second the 'endangered species' people see that the meadow voles aren't cross-pollinating like they're supposed to, they'll have them on the endangered list.

I wonder if any of the scientists involved will have the cojones to give the gene one
of those cutesy names, like the PW gene.

But probably all the researchers involved are female, gay or of
ambiguous sex-identity.

Luckily we don't have all that many hookers in our neighborhood, but if we did, I can't believe they'd be mistaken for NOW gals. The actual gender of some of those 'ladies' is sometimes questionable...appearance-wise.

Stepford Husbands!

I just watched that movie this week. I don't want a robot, so I think that's going a little too far, but having a husband that's faithful would be nice. So, I think they should give all men this gene. LOL! In all fairness, I suppose there are lots of women who cheat, so I guess women should take the gene too. I don't need it because I would never cheat but I'd take it, if it would give a man peace of mind that I would be faithful.
