My friend said she FAXed the articles on Hezbollah wanting to help distribute the film in the Middle East to them. I am trying to think of something equally compelling I could send in via FAX and email.

Don't know if a letter documenting the factual inaccuracies of the movie or reinforcing the Hezbollah stuff is more compelling.... *mulls it over*

My letter to editors across the nation:

Dear Editor:

I am calling on my fellow American patriots to show their support for our great country by boycotting the upcoming film "Fahrenheit 9/11". This anti-American propaganda is a shameful attempt to discredit President Bush, our brave military, and the war on terrorism.

With free speech comes great responsibility. While Michael Moore is protected under the U.S. Constitutution and is free to spew his hate filled invective and lies, he is not protected from the reaction of the American public. Fahrenheit 9/11 crosses the line of free speech in that it places all of us in danger by emboldening our enemies abroad. His anti-American message will surely fan the flames of hatred for us and thus, is tantamount to yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre. He is not acting responsibly and I call on all Americans to speak out against this movie via their wallets. Boycott this movie and those theatres that choose to air it. Protest outside of those theatres that do choose to air this shameful propaganda.

I am merely one person exercising my constitutional rights as a consumer. Please do the right thing and prevent the war profiteer Michael Moore from exploiting the tragedy of 9/11 for personal and financial gain. Let's not reward him for his anti-Americanism. It's time for the silent majority to remain silent no more.

Did you hear the 16-year old girl who called into Rush Limbaugh on Friday? She wants to go with a friend to protest outside one of the theaters where the film was being shown.

Rush suggested to her that it would probably be more effective to contact the theaters and the parent companies than stand across the street with a sign about Michael Moore that only pro-Moore lefties (who would go to see the movie) would see.

While I agree with Rush's point I nonetheless thought it was pretty selfless and brave for a 16-year old girl to be concerned about the future of her country and its war against terrorism... and be willing to subject herself to derision and hostility from nasty pro-Moore fanatics.

Good point. When I sign off I will call both numbers and politely explain my objections to them helping Michael Moore use their theaters to deliver political propaganda that hurts our troops and the war on terrorism.

No one asked you to call the news media. Contact the theater company that Moore wants to enlist in his propaganda machine. Don't let Moore and his distribution companies be the only one who lobbies Regal to show the movie!

You have to be a member to vote. I've been voting here for about 4 years. It not hard to sign up. So far 1070 give it a 10 and 432 give it a 1. There appears to be no middle ground. Wouldn't be hard for Freepers to turn this around.

I love that line - "war profiteer"

On Letterman Moore said when he gave his Academy Award speech (about "this is a fictitious war") where he got booed that he was just being provocative and didn't have any evidence that this was a "fictitious" war - he just was trying to stir up the sh**

He also acknowledged how hostile and nasty the audience reaction was which made my blood boil because he kept saying in the days following the speech how the network "manufactured" the boos and that the audience was actually quite supportive.

Michael Moore is a lying propagandist who gives a bad name to lying propagandists - his motives and tactics are so disgusting... his place in history belongs along side Goebbels and Leni Riefenstahl - the Nazi war propagandists.

Had he been around during WWII he'd be attacking our troops and saying that the concentration camps were "fictitious" tales created by Roosevelt to trick the public into going to war. He'd dismiss Pearl Harbor the same way he dismisses the 9/11 attacks as a wake up call to action.
