I thought this will be the official live thread of the historic launch of Spaceship One. Since this will happen while I'm at work, I thought I give a live thread an eary start..

Any have a Flight Simulator add-on with this craft? Looks like an X-1 / Komet hybrid.

It's not any sort of orbit or fraction thereof.
This is a pretty much straight up & down shot,
highly tuned to meet the requirements of the X-prize.
It presents about the most benign "re-entry" possible.
Something that could duplicate Sheppard's flight, or
even the X-15, would look very different. Rutan's
next spacecraft will doubtless look much different.
Q: What date and time will the launch take place?
A: The launch is planned for June 21, 2004. We plan for very early in the morning. Currently we are planning to taxi out for takeoff at 6:30 a.m P.D.T.
Q: Is there any plan for live media coverage of the flight?
A: CNN is planning on broadcasting live coverage. There are currently no plans for an internet stream. Ridgecrest FM radio station, KLOA FM 104.9, will cover the event live, including updates and even the flight's radio calls. There is a possibility of having severe traffic congestion with cars arriving in the Mojave area. If you are still in your car arriving late, tune in KLOA and look up at the north-east sky.
Well, 6:30 am pdt is 8:30 am cst and that's 11+ hours from now so I think that site is wrong, no?(unless I have my head up my kiester, which is entirely possible).
I believe it is going to be 6:30 am pdt, 8:30 am cst, 9:30 am est . It depends on the time zone you are in...
